With 117 different world series, people have argued which one is the best of all time? People say all sorts of things and now I am going to ask you. What do you think the best world series is of all time while trying your hardest not to be bias. Okay, I said no bias-ness or whatever, but I need to go with 1991. I am a Twins fan, if you did not know, (You should,) and here is why I think it is the best. You have 7 games in which the home team won them all. You have 5 games being decided by 1 run, (Including the last 2,) 4 by walk off, (including the last 2,) and 3 games went to extra innings. You also had 2 teams that finished in the cellar of there respective leagues the year before. Games 6 and 7 were both classics. Kirby's catch at the wall and his homerun to keep the Twins alive, Jack Morris and Smoltz have a great game in the history of the world series! 10 innings of shut in that time is still impressive, despite the fact that nobody does it today. Now you don't have to go into extreme detail like me, but what is your opinion on the greatest world series of all time?

I also vote 1991. Second would probably be 1924 where the Washington Senators defeated the NY Giants.
In that series four games were decided by one run including the last two. Two games went 12 innings: game 1 and Game 7. Game 7 was won with Walter Johnson coming in relief and pitching the final four innings. The bottom of the twelfth was quite eventufl as the Giants made two errors including one where catcher Hank Gwody dropped a foul popup due to tripping over his mask. SABR has an entire article on this game here: https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/october-10-1924-big-train-finally-wins-the-biggest-one-of-all/
But yes, I vote 1991 for the reasons you stated above. Wish the Braves would've won that one though :)

I don't know which I would vote for unbiased All-Time Greatest but my 2 favorites (with local bias) would 1924 Washington Senators over New York Giants and 2019 Washingon Nationals over Houston Astos.
My 3rd would be one of the Baltimore Orioles wins..

This response may be completely biased considering I grew up in Phoenix, but my vote is for the 2001 World Series. 7 game classic featuring plenty of legends. The Mr. November walkoff by Jeter, the 2 ridiculous comebacks by the Yankees, Schilling and Clemens showdown in Game 7, and a bases loaded bottom of the ninth finish off of Mariano Rivera. Some of the best players of a generation, and some of the best players of all time for 7 games.

1986 Mets-Boston . Click youtube and see. Not just game 6 but the whole series. Unbelievable how the Mets won.

I'll continue with the biased theme by adding the 1986 World Series. I was a kid growing up in New York at the time, and that Mets team was just something else. Strawberry, Gooden, Hernandez, Carter, HoJo, Mookie, the whole crew. So much talent and they came so close to losing the Series. Boston won the first two games at Shea Stadium, New York won the next two games at Fenway Park, and Boston won Game 5 at Fenway. Game 6 at Shea was utter madness. And then the Mets were down 3-0 in Game 7, only to come back and win it.
The 1988 World Series was pretty good too, but I think I'm focusing on just one moment there (the Kirk Gibson homerun) than the Series as a whole. The Dodgers beat Oakland 4 games to 1.

I might have to do a research article on this like bigboyonwheels did with the hall of famers. It might happen. 2001 was pretty good. It had the great plays, but I put it up there because of the times New York was in. Having them do that and then Jeter's homerun and then the great game 7 ending. 1986 for me gets put 4th or 5th. It was there time and then them getting so far and it almost, ALMOST being blown away. Did any of you guys watch the 30 for 30 doc on it? It was actually pretty good with them starting with the, "Early Years,"

Game 6 10th inning by itself in 1986. Mets down 5-3 and down to last strike and nobody on base .Mets rally to win. The entire postseason was nuts . Boston had to get by the Angels down 3 games to 1 and down to the last out just to get there.

I enjoyed the 2011 World Series because of the pressure the Rangers had to win as they had lost the year before and how the Cardinals stumped that. The David Freese home run will be a memory for me that won't be forgotten.
