Bru is a man of honor, high character, and wisdom, and one who I'd want on my side. I'm looking forward to one day meeting face-to-face when it can be arranged.

Let's not forget that this thread was started as a petition, not a vote. We are not deciding Bob's fate here. I believe the idea is to see how many support the idea of Bob being able to post again. In the end a number of names can be tabulated saying we feel Bob should be given another chance to post. Maybe the person in charge will see this and say yes, maybe he/she will say no. I have probably said too much in this thread earlier as to how I felt. Many others have as well. In thinking of how a petition works I could have simply said yes, count me as one willing to sign the petition. I won't be posting further in this topic as I have already stated I'm willing to sign the petition to give Bob another chance.

My vote is going to come down to number of card rooms.

I know I am not very active myself on the boards so I don't know exactly what happened and I don't have the time to dissect every post to see the facts of the petition. What I do know is BOBCARDZ and I have messaged each other and he stated we wanted to contribute to some of my threads but was not allowed to and I felt it was non of my business to pry in.
since I do not know the facts I have not seen or remember if I had seen some of those threads and posts I will remain neutral in this petition
ALL I can do here with a good conscience is let the Admin do his job but I pray that the administrator sets personal feelings aside look at the facts and hear BOBCARDZ plea his case ( which Bob should keep it civil and plea his case like a parole hearing). Now a parole hearing has at least 3 officers at least to decide to keep in prison or to do the process of parole and the admin has the final sayso.
If he does go through and gets parole just like a parolee 1 strike your out.
Now I know this is not prison but If it was me it would feel like prison if I can't join in the conversations because I have been on FB prison now for a year I can get IMs but I can't go to the forums and post which in my case I'm glad I'm in prison so I don't have to see and deal with all the crap happening there

And that's why he can't be allowed back.
Just wanted to address a couple of items in Bruno's last post since it turned into an attack on Dan and the L8s and Bruno has issues with me for some reason (probably because I touched an OPC set or something ):
-- It seems like you're grouping all the L8s into "old guard", but many of us have only been helping the site for a few years. Even though I signed up in 2016, I didn't start actively participating until spring 2020, and I won't speak for others, but if I saw an area of improvement, something that could be organized better, I've discussed it with Dan or Admin first and was allowed to proceed, and we've adjusted FAQs or other procedures as needed. This idea of "we're all minions that must follow supreme leader Dan!" is asinine and discredits our opinions and the work we do, and if you see a pattern in people voting No, that's what you see. There was no "HEY GUYS I DEMAND YOU ALL VOTE NO." FOH. People have legit been burned by Bob and expressed their reasons for why they've voted No. Do you consider Billy "old guard"? His mental health determined he needed to step away from the site and only contibute as needed, so when you attack Dan, are you attacking Billy too? Is your issue simply with Dan or with a dozen people that do most of the IR research and resolving, the pricing approvals, the crop approvals, the same name differentiator updates, the Release Note updates, etc.? The L8s didn't have some super secret meeting to get Bob banned, and that's what you continue to imply. Bob's behavior got him banned by Admin. Not by Dan. Admin.
-- Your help on the Donruss VARs was appreciated, and there are L8s constantly working together to do the hard reorganizing work that comes with the highest levels of permissions. The recent "behind the scenes" change you mentioned regarding 1996 Flair was started as an IR or forum post (I forget which), not because L8s were bored and randomly felt like moving things around. There was research done to determine if one was a parallel of the other, do all cards exist in both forms, hundreds of IRs submitted, etc. It's a lot of work. If your issue is that you weren't included with helping out, I don't know what to say. I don't even know if you still help out with fixing things or not since many of the OPC and Leaf sets are missing Note1s and have incorrect Names that need to be addressed.

Yeah sheesh, a lot of vitriol here for a petition that might not have gone anywhere anyway.

Longtime off and on member. I rarely post, but do spend a good bit of time (and have in the past) lurking the forums. I have a minor in psychology and find the group therapy session that's going on in this thread fascinating. Joking aside, I got to witness Bob's posts on this forum firsthand and can pretty much say that he is a prototypical example of narcissistic personality disorder. People like this have a deep seeded need to be the center of attention. Here is the link for the behavior patterns and symptoms and see for yourself how many boxes he ticks.
As far as those who want him back, I imagine they fall into several camps:
- Those who don't know the full story and think the punishment was too severe (from the things I saw, it wasn't).
- Those who tend to give people second, third, twentieth chances. These people lean towards being altruistic and want to see the good in people, sometimes no matter the evidence presented and continued pattern of behaviors to the contrary thinking that people can change (they usually don't).
- Those who are into pro wrestling and love a good heel. Note: a person's mental illness should not be used for your entertainment.
- Those who seem to be fighting a war (real or imagined) against "old guard members" and need another soldier on their side to help stir the pot.
Clearly voting NO on this.
A person a few pages back said that there aren't any clear rules spelled out. I don't know about the rest of the site, but for the forums, there are clear rules posted on every page (forum rules). The thing is that the rules don't matter to people with this affliction due to their over bloated sense of entitlement. I remember a post once where he said he was on medication, so hopefully he's getting the help he needs.
Just to add some balance to this post, there are some members/moderators on here who are extremely helpful, but seem to be a little jaded when answering questions. This is human nature sometimes as it's perhaps the 50th time they've answered the same question and it turns into a feeling of "why don't these people just learn?". It seems like the site would benefit from some stock, customer friendly answers that can be copy/pasted or linked so that everyone gets the same tone of answers and the human element of someone just having a bad day or answering the same question for the 50th can be taken out of the equation. Most people are just here to enjoy a hobby and many are novices and shouldn't be treated like second-class citizens for asking a question. It's a bad look for the site.
Have a great day everyone!
