This one hits hard. ZZ Top has been a 3 man band for something like 52 years!

Great, simple band. Saw them at the Cow Palace in San Francisco circa 1990. RIP

One of the "Oldies" radio stations yesterday (WED 28 Jul) played a 5 or 6 song "Rock Block" of ZZ-Top.

I remember being almost 13 years old and getting their afterburner cassette and a Walkman. Listening to that album and Aerosmith greatest for hours and hours. Thought I was in top of the world. Being 13 i thought the song woke up with wood was the greatest song. He will be missed by many fans around the world. Kinda stinks I just saw a sign as I was coming back from Florida last week about them playing and I asked the wife if we could go. RIP Dusty Hill.

Ironically, I had recently watched an episode of "King Of The Hill" where he guest starrred as Hank's cousin.
Like many people my age, ZZTop's videos on MTV were my first intro to the band, and they were the first artist I owned on CD. (This was even before I owned a CD player - I won a radio contest for a CD of theirs of my choice from a local music shop. I had to settle for Afterburner because they were out of stock on Eliminator.)
RIP Dusty!
