Relief pitchers often don't get national attention, especially middle relief pitchers. This is exemplified by the fact that these workhorses sometimes don't even get a Topps base card dispite appearing in 50,60,70, sometimes 80 games!
Know any relief pitchers like this that you think deserve more appreciation?
I'll start with:
Yusmeiro Petit
Mark Eichhorn
Craig Breslow
Alan Embree
On another note...
Ricardo Rincon and Chad Bradford actually did get some attention in Moneyball, which was awesome.

At least this season Ryan Tepera and Andrew Chafin should get some love for their work.

Hirokazu Sawamura not only has a name that deserves a baseball card, but he has the stuff to prove he pitched well enough this year to have earned it!

Except for those two homers he gave up the other night to the Yankees...

James Karinchak. For his career, he has 129 strikeouts in 73.2 innings, and a 2.57 ERA. In my opinion, he could be a top closer in a year or two.

Kent Tekulve deserves more appreciation because his cards are FANTASTIC! He was also really good too.

Oh yea, I remember him! Luckily he played in a time where card checklists were such that people like him reliably got cards (usually several cards) every year. I miss those times! Don't know if all those great Tekulve cards would have been made by todays checklist standards and only one licensed card Co... existing.

Yes, Ryan Tepera, 7 solid seasons. Look him up, search Ryan Tepera/Major Releases. 2 cards, both in the update set, in 7 solid seasons (276 apperences, 3.60 ERA). Case in point. Thank you.
On the other side of the argument in 2020 he actually got an MVP vote, WoW. Wonder what the story behind that is, haha.

Usually closers get all the notoriety, while the middle relievers and set-up men fade into obscurity. Two that just popped into my head that I remember being steady performers in Toronto are Jason Frasor and Scott Downs.
