I am not his greatest fan on the field, but Aaron Rodgers is the guest host of Jeopardy this week and next week. IMHO, he's doing okay as a game host. Not the worst one, but not the best one they had since Alex Trebek has passed away.

I would agree. Missed last night's show, but saw his debut on Monday. To me, the guest hosts have ranked as follows:
Mike Richards
Dr. Oz
Aaron Rodgers
Ken Jennings
Katie Curic

I haven't watched many episodes since Alex passed, but I guess since I'm not a fan of Rodgers I didn't care for what I saw from him. He seemed wooden on the day I watched. Then again it takes time for them to get comfortable so I get it. I don't think any that have guested so far have a chance outside of Ken Jennings of hosting full time. I'm not sure who I'd want to host though, but I would hope Todd Newton and Jeff Probst get a shot. Probst did a good job hosting Rock & Roll Jeopardy. I wish they'd bring that back and Sports Jeopardy while their at it.

I read that there is an online petition going around to get LeVar Burton as a possible host.

Ngl Rodgers hosting legitimately surprised me the first time I saw it
I don't watch jeopardy too much but if its on and I have nothing better to do I'll watch it

Rodgers is way too subdued on Jeopardy. He's doing a lot better than I expected thought. I agree with your rankings except I would swap Ken Jennings and Rodgers right now (Rodgers may get better as it goes though).

I am a huge fan of Jeopardy and a former contestant. Obviously none of the guest hosts are Alex....he was a true master at it. The best hosts keep a nice even pacing throughout the show, keeping it moving and transitioning seamlessly between clues. That's where Rodgers has struggled a little bit in those transitions...enough for me to notice, but not badly enough to ruin the show. It's not fair to expect him to match the performance of a master right off the bat - I think he is doing great for literally his first day on this new job.

I can't unsee Richards as the host of "Beauty and the Geek." Also, he's apparently the producer now, so I can't imagine he would do both.
If this had happened 10 years ago, they could have hired Glenn Kagan, who was the coordinator who ran all the practice games then and had the role down pat.

As a J! alum, I agree that Richards was excellent and would be an excellent official replacement. I think Ken would be great too.
Rodgers is fine, I just think he's nervous as hell. He's a smart guy, but this is a different element than he's used to. He clearly is doing his best to mimic Alex rather than doing his own thing. I thought Couric was good too; she definitely put her own personality into it, which I really liked.
Oz is a hack and should never be allowed within a thousand yards of the set again.
