I've seen Damn Yankees and Pride of the Yankees, the latter they showed us in public school. I know I saw a movie about Lou Gehrig but I think it was one of those two. I don't remember. It was the 1990s. I also seem to recall one was a musical? But again, the most recently I've seen any of these would be circa 1998.
I've also seen the one in 1994 about the kid who pitched. The Rookie or Rookie of the Year, I don't remember anymore. Did a school project on that one. I remember the project, which was 4th grade for me.
I'm not a baseball or movie person, movies give me a headache, unquestionably, without fail. So you name it, I haven't seen it. I was curious to see how many I had seen,
This is cool. I'm copying and pasting and making a list. :)
I did find one the other day that I've bookmarked. I've not watched it yet.
1949 - It Happens Every Spring.
The premise - A goofy college chemistry professor (Ray Milland) accidentally discovers a formula that makes anything it's applied to repel wood. He promptly sets out to exploit his discovery as a pitcher for the St Louis baseball team.
I have seen about half of that list and will be looking for the other half of the list soon. Like many of you I have seen some that are not on that list. I suppose these are documentaries, but I enjoyed and would recommend.

Not a movie watcher here - I have watched five of them:
4 Field of Dreams
6 Moneyball
11 The Bad News Bears (1976)
19 42
22 Angels in the Outfield (1994)
And come to think of it, not sure if I have only seen so many clips of Field of Dreams that it feels like I watched it or if I actually have. I remember where I watched each of the other 4 (and with how infrequently I watch movies, I pretty much know where I have watched what I have seen). So, it might only be 4. I really liked 42.
That movie sounds vaguely familiar and would not be surprised if I watched it as a child. TV still played a lot of films from the 20s-50s back then.

It's been decades since I saw this movie (It Happens Every Spring), a nice rainy day matinee, would work well. I will have to watch it again soon. Just checked the weather, later today might be a good time.

I just finished watching Eight Men Out, which I've seen several times before. A coworker of mine at the time landed a role as an extra in the film and appears in a courtroom scene in the last ten minutes of the movie. Shout out to Ray Janes, wherever you are!
