I just recieved an email from a good friend in Texas that asked me if I could find some water fittings to fix his broken pipes as everyone where he lives is out of them. I got thinking, I know this has nothing to do with card collecting, however, if anyone on this site needs some help acquiring pieces, parts, whatever to get their life going, feel free to send me a message and I will get them and next day to you.

Great idea. I hear some people are getting hit with huge power bills. If any TX folks here that need help with that also let us know and we can do some fund raising also.

I was in construction so got tons of stuff but distance and country make it impossible so if anyone is in need of something else maybe I can help in some way.

Thanks, Kevin, et al.
My son-in-law and I tried fixing our pipe yesterday but couldn't find the parts. A plumber came by today and he used what he had to Jimmy it because he's not been able to find couplings and other parts. He said he'd come back when he had the parts to complete it correctly. Our water is working for now.
As for the power bills, at least our electric company has told customers to not pay outlandish bills because they'll negotiate prices with the suppliers. Those with variable rates in natural gas went from $0.09/whatever to $9.00/whatever.
It boggles my mind that the debacle that 2020 was seems to have extended into 2021.

Ya I was hoping I would have electricity and water but nope not yet. My wife told me this is the 7th day. I have trees in the country road I have trees broke in half and broken limbs everywhere. So during daylight I am cleaning the trees and road during the night I will have the fire place going all night to keep the family warm
i am supposed to have a plumber come by today to get the pipe fixed behind the wall that busted so we can get water I have a video chat with the insurance company to talk about condemning by barn that a tree fell over and too abou 15 feet of the barn and another 30 feet to where the roof caved in.
what sucks is that I was almost done with clean up from the last storm last month but now it's even worse that the first storm. Oh well back to work daylight to dark
i put in 197 hours at my job for 2 weeks and not it looks like I will be trying to put 100 hours this week in cleaning up my place. DANG
Thank you for thinking of us

No time for a bigger debate but I think curveball is not what I would call it specifically. Just read this morning that the state is freezing all the power and utility bills that are gouging people and will fix the problem ASAP. Another article stated that in the past year alone Texas has needed 45 Billion dollars in disaster relief from storms. Thats crazy. Stay safe and stay warm.

I'd imagine a solid portion comes from Hanna, Laura, Beta, etc. (perhaps mostly Beta, as that dropped a ton of rain) Texas gets a lot of tropical action.
