I think this would be a nice change. I like the stage system, but the artificial interruptions to races have always felt...well, artificial regarding the possible elimination of cautions between stages, don't know why my replies don't always show right).
I heard about that a day or two ago and I like it. There are numerous reasons to drop the race by 100 laps with this new car and being so early in the season.
I expect the Clash at LA Coliseum to be crazy on Feb. 6th. For those that don't know yet, there will be practice there on 2/05 at 12:30pm EST on FS2 and Qualifying on FS1 at 8:30pm EST. I'm more than ready for the NASCAR Cup season since I have no team left to root for in the Super Bowl. I'll still watch the game, but I don't really care who wins it this year. I'm ready for the D500!!!
I love this thread but when Daytona starts, would it be possible to start a new thread. Having a yearly thread would be a good way to look back at previous years and also a fresh start.
That said, I haven't looked up much on Daytona or the season, but I'm already enjoying USA Network having more sports. This weekend was the first time I've got to see more than 3 hours of the 24 hours of Daytona, and I think I caught almost all of the coverage between USA Network and NBC. The finish was a lot more exciting than I expected. I only wish they would have talked a little more about each of the entries instead of the leaders most of the time. I know nobody cares about 43rd place, but I tuned in to catch Katherine Legge race and had to keep checking the website to see if she was in the car or not. I don't care if the team she was on finished 38th, in fact from the morning hours to the finish the team moved up 5 spots overall and I think 6 spots in their division, pretty impressive.
