The recent change with E-bay basically killing paypal for sellers and forcing them to use their regualr checking accounts to receive payments from people may be the last straw for me. I was already pissed off at their fees and how they bend over backwards to side with buyers and screw the little sellers for their mega-sellers but this is too much.
I'm sure I'm not the only guy who uses Paypal as a way to stash oney from the "War Department" aka the wife for the purposes of enjoying this expensive hobby. Now any sales from my store will go into the general treasury?? I can't even stand the thought of that so I am 90% I'll be closing my store rather quickly. I usually have around 100 to 150 things in there all card related I think. So manybe I'll break some of these sets and add them as trade bait here.
I'm starting to hate E-bay as much as Beckett and that's saying a lot.

Separate hobby checking account? This wife's takeover was sudden and devastatingly complete so no effect on me. I sense her smiling somewhere right now and that's good.

I'm with you hawkking, my PayPal was a nice little separate account and I'm not happy with this change either.
I've already ended a few items on eBay early and put them up on here for trade. When my items are sold out there, I'm done.

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

I set up a seperate savings account specifically for the eBay Managed Payments. That way it didn't get mixed into the "general" fund. It was annoying at first, and it is still frustrating that the money isn't available for about 3 days after a sale, but at least I'm earning interest on my money now, as small an amount as that may be.

when you sell something you can no longer have your buyer pay into your PayPal account. you must have a bank account attached to your eBay account

I had a sale yesterday that went to my Paypal account. Is this only for Ebay Stores which I don't have?

I'm not sure. I have a store and I couldn't resist my items without updating my bank info to replace PayPal

I think ebay is working down from larger sellers to smaller. My friend who runs a card shop had to do this prior to US Thanksgiving. I had to do this at the beginning of 2021. After talking it over with Mrs Gunny, I opened a new checking account at her bank. Sure it takes a wee bit longer to get the funds into the new account however, the plus is that only ebay fees are taken out. Before there was an ebay fee and a paypal fee.

Yes it is something announced, perhaps, over a year ago. But as with anything from a financial institution, it didn't really make sense they way they wrote it. It was supposed to happen last January or something IIRC. Doesn't matter much for me because I have had Paypal attached to a dedicated checking account for years. Primarily just as a safety net in case my Paypal account got compromised. The only annoying thing is having to transfer money into it.
