31 year rural mail carrier, I drive one of those trucks 57 miles everyday. It will be 29 years old this year, and just went over 220,000 miles. ironically, one of the biggest topics management likes to preach about is our safety!

The video was very informative, the retirement pre funding has really hurt the postal service.

Thermal incident. It is also somewhat frequent with pretty much anything with a gas or diesel engine. Some models are more fire prone than others. If it is also similar to their Canadian counterpart, they must have a sky high bill in transmission repairs. Mechanics make tons of money with those trucks.
