I just returned to Canada and am now in a mandatory 2 week quarantine. It is really scary out there but is what it is I guess. On side note big thanks to Tony M for his generosity and friendship on our meet in Florida, he told my father and I must see sites and even had time for am in person meet up and trade. Thanks brother. Jeff

LOL, good one.
Yes, schools and businesses close every time the media blows something out of proportion, lol.

Ah, yes, that damned media. In cahoots with so many of the world's and state's and city's governments. Clearly, this is the media once again making a big deal out of nothing. That's the only logical conclusion about what's going on here. I mean, the only other explanation is that there is a pandemic that could get worse if people don't wise up and start paying attention to the cautions of scientists and doctors affiliated with known political operatives like the World Health Organization. Which theory makes more sense? The huge, world-wide conspiracy, duh. Please, everyone, take no mind. And, whatever you do, don't change a thing about your lives. Don't inconvenience yourself in the least because of this media conspiracy. Don't take any precautions to curb the alleged spread of this disease just in the name of caring about other people. That would be ridiculous.
(I'd apologize for my sarcasm -- in case you didn't notice it -- but I don't feel the least bit apologetic.)
Please be safe out there.

Thanks oilerRCguy and v3. Both posts were awesome.
Key words: "Wise up". Yes, it's true you don't have to take the media at it's word. Instead, why not get your information firsthand, straight from a credible, official source, in this case the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov), the World Health Organization (www.who.int) and your local government? Knowledge is power.

NC made all restaurants and bars become take-out only or closed until further notice as of 5pm Tuesday. No dine-in anymore. Not a surprise and still doesn't affect me.
One thing happened today that does affect me, but not that much and I was expecting it. Glen Raven Mills shut down the fitness center for their employees until further notice. With other "paid-membership" fitness centers doing the same over the weekend, I knew this one would soon as well. It is my smallest account so it's not a big hit to my paycheck. Plus, I don't have to make an extra trip into town on Friday afternoon until it re-opens. So it also saves me a gallon of gas and about 3 hours of my time. I'll also get home from work about 20 minutes earlier Wednesday night. So it's kind of a toss-up on the good vs. bad of this. It makes 2 of my days easier to deal with and gives me a bunch of free time in the middle of Friday afternoon while only taking about $32 out of my paycheck.
At the Dialysis Clinics, they are now checking all staff, patients and visitors for symptoms of the virus upon entry. They were already requiring everyone to wash hands and wear a mask as they entered. That doesn't include me b/c I am mostly there when no one else is there. But I've been making sure that I don't bring it in either. I don't see how I could contract it UNLESS it was from those 2 locations. I have a strong immune system so it would be surprising if I got it or that I would even know if I did get it, but I certainly wouldn't want to spread it to anyone and especially at those 2 places. I have a stack of Single-Use Clinical Thermometers to make sure that I don't have a fever. I am also checking the symptom logs for everyone coming into the clinics. Not the names of people, just the yes/no marks for symptoms. All are NO so far and I hope it stays that way.
There are still no confirmed or suspected cases in the county where I work. But there was a 1st confirmed case in my home county Tuesday. The person had traveled to Orlando and felt the symptoms shortly after arriving home. I got a bit worried when I first heard that b/c my grandma and an aunt & uncle had just come back from Orlando last week. But it was not them. I'm not stopping my life for a minor version of the flu b/c too many people depend on me to do my job. But I am taking precautions to help prevent a possible spread of it. There are over 100 (total) patients at my 2 dialysis clinics that are there for 3-4 hours a day, three days a week and another 15 or so staff members. And some of those staff members work at other clinics from day-to-day OR to fill in for someone that can't work for any reason. That's a lot of people I would possibly spread it to if I were to get it! I have no choice but to think about that whether this is overblown precaution, media-hype or anything else.
