Takes the home court advantage right out of the equation. Just remember that Dr Emmert of the NCAA is not a real doctor, he only plays one for the NCAA. NCAA didn't want to be caught with their hands in the till. You can't send all the kids from college and then say to the players "oh wait, you stay, you have to make money for my multi-million dollar salary".

In the words of the horse on Ren & Stimpy," NO SIR, I DON'T LIKE IT!"
I understand being cautious, but I think they are reacting too swiftly and impulsively. Granted I don't want people to die, but if they feel that they need to hold events without fans, then they might as well cancel it. Sure it sucks for the players, and the fans, but I feel this will hurt sports for years if all these leagues have empty arena events.

Watching on TV (I assume it will still be televised) is going to be weird and probably unenjoyable. I don't know though man this whole thing does seem to be blown out of proportion, but at the same time I can't help but think it is pretty serious. I mean how much money are they going to lose? How money hungry the NCAA is I am a bit shocked. Or do they really not make much on paid attendance anyway and they are not losing much because of all the TV money?
Just some random thoughts.

Agreed wholeheartly with thoughts expressed thus far. The panic being promulagted by the MSM is criminal! Taking common sense precautions is usually more than enough and should be emphasized, but it is getting ridiculous. Last week, when working with a professional baseball team from South Korea (down at Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Dodger Town - Vero Beach, FL) I did not go around hugging & kissing the South Korean Ladies, as lovely as they were and as friendly a Guy that I am, on most days. That is taking precautions and making sacrifices!! Looking forward to the weather warming up everywhere for everybody so that We can say farewell to all this nonsense . . .
Yours in the Journey - Felix

Hope we can all stay friends, but I disagree. Lack of early action has got us to where we are. Looking at other countries (Italy for example) shows how bad it could get. I hope it doesn't get that bad. If this is only way to slow it down until a vaccine is made, then that's what needs to be done.

Yes, it has to be taken seriously. But like other viruses, they tend to die off with warmer weather but you never know, according to the experts. This is the form of the Saars virus from years back which eventually died off. Hoping for the same here. See where all that hugging and hand-shaking got us?

A whole new meaning to "March Madness".

The NCAA really had no choice in cancelling the games. As many cities ban public assembly in excess of " x " number of people, the NCAA's hands were basically tied and the decision was made for them.
