No, it's not. There is a two-state logo, but it isn't on the helmets (usually). The helmets almost always have just the Panther head on them. The main local slogan of the Panthers is "One Team...Two States". It's the main reason why they are called the CAROLINA Panthers instead of the Charlotte Panthers. They play in Charlotte, NC but their off-season work-outs and pre-season practices are all held at Wofford College in SC. Outside of the Carolinas, we're only known for the "Keep Pounding" slogan. The Panthers have also started having pre-season work-outs/scrimmages against other NFL teams at Wofford College. They did it with the Bills this year a couple of days before the pre-season game.

I think it's nice that you caught the fact that SC is also in a logo. But they have always been part of the larger logo. The Panthers have 3 main logos. One is the type-face Carolina Panthers text logo, the next is the Panther head itself and the 3rd is the dual-state under a Panther head. Actually, there was a 4th one for a while. It was kind of a shadow OR highlight panther logo. It was only the eyes, nose, whiskers and teeth of the original Panther logo. I have several examples hanging around me, usually white for the aforementioned parts of the panther on a black background. But there are other variations too.

That sucks. It's annoying to me when teams move. It's a bit of a slap in the face for the local fans and it's not like Vegas needs the revenues.

I can see your point, but I totally disagree with it. The team was meant to be based in Charlotte, NC and to represent both states. And it has done that for all 25 seasons. If the head logo were shaped like SC, it would have a massive dent in the whole left-side of it's head. You are seeing a coincidence of the shape of the logo, but it is not SC. Before, I thought you were talking about the NC/SC logo that is a marketing tool. It has the shape of NC and SC together with a small Panther head right where Charlotte would be on a map of the 2 states. Above says ONE TEAM and below says TWO STATES. That is the only logo that actually shows either state, and both states as well. I have products with every logo the Panthers have ever had on uniforms: 2 Panthers head logos, 2 Carolina Panthers TEXT logo's and the "shadow logo" that is just the white eyes/nose/teeth/whiskers over a black background. There was also a decal version of the shadow logo that was blue instead of white and I have one of those on my old car (too many small stickers to move it to my new car and make it look right).

To make the full-head logo closely match the shape of SC, you'd have to eliminate the jaw and drastically straighten the neck, eliminate an ear and put a dent in the skull. It isn't shaped like SC and never was meant to resemble SC. I truly hope this reply doesn't seem harsh or mean b/c it wasn't meant to be either!

Thank you for the information.  I never knew that Carolina had three logos.  The only logo I knew was the Pantha's head on their helmets.

As for a MAIN helmet logo, there are only 2: the current Panther head is a modernized version of the original Panther head. They have used some altered Panther heads on occassion (such as the "shadow head"). I don't think the "One Team...Two States" logo has been used on the helmet, but they have used it on the field in place of the NFL logo at the 50-yard line a few times since Tepper bought the team. Jerry Richardson always used the NFL logo at the 50. When Tepper took over, he asked the fans to vote for what logo should be there. He's had almost every logo on the field at some point in the past 2 years. I voted for the 1T...2S logo b/c it's rarely seen outside of the Carolinas. That logo is mostly a media logo. The TEXT logos were mostly on merchandise like coats, shirts, chairs, stickers and such. Most Panthers coats have a TEXT logo on the back and a small Panther head on the left chest. Now that I think about it, there are 3 TEXT logos. I don't think I have anything with the original one b/c it only lasted a couple of years before it was changed. And the current one is different from that one and was changed when the head logo changed. I like the 2nd one best, but the new one is nice too. Both are WAY better than the original. While they may have changed logos a bunch of times in the past 25 years, most of them were minor changes that are barely noticable. I'd have to get some pics of the various logos together to explain better.
