That was a lengthy read, but worth the time spent. Wow! Manfred did not mess around.

Wow indeed. I had predicted a suspension for the GM and manager, but was not expecting an entire year. Also the draft picks!! That's really a blow to the organization. I wonder what's handed down to the Red Sox?
I know I'm cynical, but I'd be willing to bet that EVERY club had something similar going on. Although, perhaps the Tigers, Orioles, Marlins and (my) Royals must have been really bad at it to still lose over a hundred games last year.

Astros just fired Luhnow and Hinch too.
With all of the technology available today, this is something that was bound to happen. I too imagine that most, if not all teams, are using things to their competitive advantage that aren't what one would call "ethical". Still doesn't make it, and personally I'm glad to see harsh penalties handed down, as I would hope they would do their job as a deterrent for other teams in the future.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

The punishment wasn't harsh enough. MLB should have taken away the Astros's only title. 2017 would result in a title-less season.

Common thread between both teams... Alex Cora. He could be in for a heap of trouble for himself personally. And as a Red Sox fan I feel cheated.

I think I'm gonna be the minority opinion. The suspensions were justified. If they had been longer, probably stil justified. Fines and draft pick losses, justified.
I don't think you can take away the title. Its a thing that happened. They won. Sure they used means they shouldn't have. They're not the first team to do so (and no, that does not justify it), and they probably won't be the last. Possibly the most egregious case...and they're the ones that got caught. They still won. Thing is...everybody knows. Everybody will know. The title will be tainted. That's enough punishment for me.

The Astros in 2017 were 48-33 at home but were 53-28 away. Did they bring the trash cans with them on the road?
I'm not defending the practice of cheating but this isn't shaving points or spiking the gatorade. Not to mention, those teams calling for the heads of others should be wary to cast too many stones. Glass houses and all that.
