I have to disagree with that first line. Some people may have more "free time" then, but think about those traveling to visit family that is not close to them. They have the time for the site, but don't have access to their cards while not at home. And those with kids have the time to visit the site, but the kids are with them all the time during the final 2 weeks of the year b/c school is out. Some families take a holiday vacation to somewhere they've never been before or somewhere they like to go away from home each year. And then there are the college students who go home for the holidays but actually had their cards with them in the dorm or an apartment on-campus. I've come across all of these scenarios over the past 15 years of online trading.

I didn't say holidays are an excuse, but they are a reason for things not going smoothly and/or quickly. That is why I mostly avoid them during the end of year holidays.

I do agree that negative feedback is warranted at this point by the OP though. Negligence and ignoring contact is never a good sign!

By now, I would be naming him in this Forum as well as leaving a Negative Feedback clearly explaining the situation, the undeclared damaged cards, and the lack of response to messages. Be aware that a Neutral feedback does not affect someone's rating so, if he is at 100% right now with several comments, many will not open the "View Comments" and see your feedback. I found this out when leaving initially a Neutral feedback on another individual. I subsequently changed it to a Negative so that others would see what had happened in our transactions. As for retaliatory feedback, I always look to see each other's feedback so that I know both sides of the story and can form an opinion of who is at fault and who not to trade with.

He was logged on the site during the period in question and has failed to answer messages that concern an important issue. Answering sghould be priority one if nothing more than to explain that he will only be able to address the issue when the holidays are over.

No excuse because of the holidays if he had time to log on to the site. This not only applies here but in all electronic communications, work or play. Pet peeve - I despise people who ignore messages that require a return.

Logged-on doesn't always mean actively using the site. I leave myself logged-on 24/7 on my laptop and phone, and only get logged-off if the browser closes.
