Wish I woulda read this one earlier. That's about the vibe I got from him. I had a hard time working out a deal with him too. I don't think he looks at regular messages. Only would communicate through the trade messages. He drove a hard bargain. He did ship quickly, now let's hope they arrive ok. 

I have traded with Deeter a few times myself. Never an issue but this story really sucks. I more than likely would not pay 150.00 for a bunch of 90s cards as were shown in the box but one mans gold ingot is another mans red brick. To pack in that manner is just down right wrong! I have not traded with Deeter in a while for he does not seem to always be willing to trade newer issue cards much.

My first transaction was with Ants and it was a bad experience .... some of my own doing but it could of been resolved if he communicated with me in any kind of way about it.

A summary of it is in my profile. 

Funny thing is he (Ants) said no one would ever trade with me after the feedback but almost all who have ... prefaced it with an unpleasant experience of their own.

I wish I had of seen this and knew what I know now before dealing with him. 

The lack of communication from the get go should of been a red flag. It most defiantely is now.

My 1st transaction on here was with him too (and a few after that). I was just getting started on this site back then and wanted to test the waters of TCDB to see if anything differed from Beckett. His communication has always been lacking and his trade offers are ALWAYS small. I quit dealing with him a couple years ago just b/c of the numerous small offers.

Motorcat, I took a look at your trade list and I see four NASCAR cards I would like to trade for. Your wantlist doesn't show anything I have, but I am sure I could come up with some Jeff Burton and Ricky Rudd cards if you're interested. I have my tradelist turned off at the moment but I could turn it back on, I've got thousands of NASCAR cards available.

Sorry to hear that happened to you :( Hopefully it'll all work out in the end! Untorunatley some of us do run into a bad transaction from time to time. Some bigger than others. That being said, there are a lot of GREAT people in this hobby as well. Wish you all the best in resolving this!

I'll go ahead and post my story here too. I posted our entire transaction message in his feedback so everyone could see what really went on. He uses his number of trades as a holy grail and refuses to admit that there is any possibility that he could have made a mistake simply because, "I've done thousands of trades and it's never happened before". Then plays the victim like he's being screwed over. Here is our transaction --- it reads from the bottom up.

Me: You didn't notice the mark or you scammed me - those are the two possibilities. The card I sent to you is the one you sent to me. You're hiding behind your tenure and you claim that you are in a no-win situation but you screwed me whether you think you did or not. You won. I lost. Your failure to recognize that you made a mistake and your unwillingness to rectify the situation just means that you are bullheaded and stubborn. ___________________________________

Your distrust of me at this point is equaled by my distrust of you. You think i might cheat you, but I know that I've been cheated so there we are. You're getting back the reprint card that you sent to me and you get to keep the cards that I sent without any reprisal and no way for me to recover anything should you be lying. Regardless of how long you've been trading, mistakes happen. This is one of them. There isn't any real way for you or I to prove who cheated who to an intermediary, but I know what I pulled out of that envelope.

49ants: Sent: Tue, 9/17/2019 6:40 PM Thanks but that still leaves me in a no win situation you send back a card that you say I sent but that I believe I didn't I have been trading for a long time and when it comes too older cards I always check to make sure they are in very good condition so I don't know how I could have overlooked the printing of it being a reprint.

I have zero intention on cheating anyone here and I do actually believe you when you say that you didn't realize it wasn't his rookie card (aside from the glossy finish and the tiny little logo, it's a dead ringer). As it stands right now, I know that I gave you what you asked for but didn't get what I agreed to and can't really prove it so it sparks distrust on both our parts. Hence we are instructed to trade at our own risk and maybe this is a lesson learned that is quite discouraging. Anyway, I dropped the Ripken back in the mail today so you can see for yourself. I'm convinced the only thing that will make him correct his fraud is if the site admin decides to temporarily ban his account. I think that's entirely warranted. I would disable his login privileges until he sends what he promised. He thinks he can treat people (and my cards) like garbage and get away with it, but consequences need to happen.
