The primary reason I don't watch the NFL and the NBA, and especially ESPN, is for the politics that in my opinion goes against American values. 

Whoever the NBA Commissioner is has clearly put greed ahead of humanity and America in his public statement denouncing the Rockets GM Morey for his comments against China's continued dehumanizing treatment of its people for seeking freedom from the oppressive government. 

Even Senator Ted Cruz and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have joined together seeking the NBA change their tune.

There are a couple of sports that I can't watch any longer due to mingling politics w/sports. I want them to keep both sides out 🤷🏼‍♀️

Typical clueless politicians have zero idea what they are talking about. If you actually bother to read what Adam Silver said, you would know that they are actually criticising Adam Silver for basically saying sorry we hurt your feelings but all our people can say whatever they want, and none will be censored regardless of whose feelings get hurt. 

By the way, no one in the NBA has denounced Daryl Morey, as you say Josh. As is the popular term these days, fake news.

I think we need to keep politics off the site because all it is going to do is piss somebody off no matter what is mentioned.

Wordsmithing is an artform, and I'm certain the message between the lines is clearly "we're going to appease an oppressive government for their $4 billion dollars we can gain." It's strange how the NBA has supported social change within our homeland, but doesn't seem to take the same actions abroad.

And I agree, capitalism is an American way, but so is social justice.

Forgive me, I wasn't really following this, but it seems to be making headlines. Also, forgive if these details are incorrect, but this is what I'm seeing:

Rocket owner tweets support of pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong.
Commish of NBA supports owner, "Silver said Tuesday in Tokyo that he supports Morey's right to free speech".
Cruz & AOC want NBA to suspend activities in China.

Am I missing something here? I don't want to discuss politics or opinion (although this whole thing apparently started with an owner tweeting his opinion), I simply want facts.

Dan, the only thing you're missing is that Morey is the GM of the team, not the owner. Tilman Fertitta is the owner of the Rockets.

The NBA policies are only good in the US, as those are other countries, but you can stay away from those countries that dont want to treat you Humans better
