T-16 after round 1 (out of 27 that showed up - 30 were signed up). Could have done better, but considering the tee shots, he scored better than he played. Hoping for a better game tomorrow. :)

Having a 2nd birthday party for my oldest son this afternoon.  Elmo themed.  There was supposed to be a lot of family coming but most of them cancelled because they are sick.  It's too bad but I think my son will still have a good time

Sounds lame but after years of laughter, one sniff of the playoffs since the Carolina debacle, and endless questions such as simply why? My Edmonton Oilers are on thier best start is 35 years!! 5-0 baby!! Yes I will use this thread shamelessly to plug my team!! Happy Birthday to your boy. Hopefully he's an Oiler fan as well. =) 

My brother is home from the hospital.   He had a spot on his lungs.  They did a biopic and it was Neg.  Great

Problem occurred when the needle hole do not close in his lungs and air escaped into is body.   He blow up like the Michelin man.  So bad he could not see for several days plus they had to put an air way tube in.     He is feeling good but is very tired.  He was very lucky as he has not been in good shape the last few months.  (breathing problems)

Glad to hear test came back a neg. Hope he gets well fast.

The #1 thing I say outloud in my car to nobody is "Nice turn signal!". Turning it on WHILE you are turning is not a notification that you are turning!!! The only thing that ticks me off more is when someone obviously sees you dim your hi-beams but STILL doesn't dim theirs. I hi-beam them back and I'm not turning them off again! I drive a lot at night, especially this time of year and throughout the winter, so that makes me madder than anything else I see on the roads. As for red lights, I have run through a few over my years, but they are usually the same 2 intersections and I'm turning right and know the timing of the lights. It's even happened right in front of police a few times and they never come get me. It's not a blatant running thru a red light, but more of a situation where I either run it or had to slam on the brakes. That would be a worse situation if I slammed on the brakes and locked up the tires.

At 59F, I'm wearing long jeans but still a short-sleeved t-shirt, maybe a jacket on top if I'll be outside for quite a while. As for Thanksgiving, I didn't know y'all did that in the Great White North. Ours is 11/21 this year. As for Black Friday, I always have to work that day so the only thing I might buy is cigarettes and/or beer. Same for Cyber Monday. I like the "Buy Nothing Day" though! The Saturday after Thanksgiving is just a normal Saturday for me, so I still buy my groceries for the next week. I do buy them at a store started and still based in NC. But they are a pretty large chain store. The "Whirl-Mart" thing is something I would have to stop, stare and laugh about if I saw it. That's just funny.

Back to "Daily Good News"...

My Panthers won the early football game Sunday morning in London and it wasn't nearly as close as the final score of 37-26. I finally got a great night of sleep and woke up about an hour earlier than usual, but feeling great. Sleep had been a problem the past couple of nights for unknown reasons. I still had to watch a recording of the game b/c 9:30am is still too early for me to be up usually (I work at night, for those that don't know). The NASCAR race got rained out down in Talladega, AL after the 1st Stage ended and was postponed to Monday, but my driver was 7th (of 40 cars) after those 55 laps of the 188 scheduled.

I hope Monday's good news will be a Top-5 finish for my NASCAR driver and a Cardinals win over the Nationals to get back into the NLCS.

I've been crazy busy this week and didn't get a chance to post here, but on Thursday I achieved one of only three things on my Bucket List, which was a ride on Route 66. Very few roads have as much legend and lore as it does, and as my life revolves around cars, it is something I've always wanted to do. Crazy thing is, I didn't realize it at first! They've renumbered it 53 in Illinois, and we ended up on that after a visit to Chicagoland Speedway. I was seeing references to it, so at a gas station I checked Wikipedia on my phone and I found out I was actually on 66! It's the second Bucket List item I've checked off this year, and likely the third will never happen. The first was a ride in a classic car, which I did in a 1913 Model T in May at the Saratoga Automobile Museum.

Owning a classic car of my own. Unfortunately my health problems prevent me from driving and the costs related to same are preventing me from buying it at and having my family drive it. Sad thing is I could have gotten the perfect car for me earlier this year for only $5000. That's not a lot in the world of classic cars, but for me it's impossible.
