I'm typing this from a hotel room - son is playing in yet another golf tournament. I'll let you know Sunday if I have any realy good news or if he'd rather me not talk about it. :)

My week has been pretty typical. So I guess the good news would be that nothing bad happened all week. The Carolina Panthers won their 3rd straight game on Sunday and the STL Cardinals advanced to the NLCS on Wednesday, so those things made me happy.

First snowfall today...normally that wouldn't be a great day because it means real winter will be here soon. But I spent my morning having coffee with my daughter before she headed off to class. Then I had lunch with my grandma and my brother, sister, and several aunts and uncles showed up. Went home to have dinner with my son and daughter in-law. Spent the evening with them playing games until we went to our local high school football game. Then it was back to our house for hot chocolate and our other son came over to join us.
Very blessed day despite the snow.

That sounds like a great day, Chad! I'm glad you had some fun and got some quality time with family on a snowy day.
When snow falls in NC, many people go nowhere if they don't HAVE to do so. Too many people around here can't drive in it. Heck, many of them can't drive worth a crap when it's just raining. The problem is that you've got the experienced drivers out there b/c they need to be and then the idiots that THINK they know what to do in the conditions. We can get only an inch of snow and there are tons of wrecks b/c some people are just stupid. Then again, the same stuff happens when the weather is perfect and dry. So many people here don't understand distance vs. MPH, or when to use a turn signal, or turn on your lights in the rain, or when to dim hi-beams! NC sucks at getting the rules across to drivers!

Just to follow up on your comment you would think up here where we typically have snow on the ground almost guaranteed 5 and sometimes 6 months of the year (normally Nov.-Apr.) though I have seen a flurry or two in Sept. and even early June one year..that drivers would make the necessary adjustments but everybody seems to think there Mario Andretti and in a hurry to get nowhere fast! Turn signals, what are they for as most here can't seem to care to use them and don't even get me started on stop signs and amber/red lights!!! No snow yet here although the west has had two significant winter storms already. Sunny and close to 15C (59F) so very comfortable and still able to work outdoors in shorts!!! Hoping to get through this month before hauling out the jeans for the winter season. Thanksgiving dinner on tap likely early (later today) as our daughter (an RN) works on Monday so we'll likely be heating up the kitchen with the holiday fare. For some reason our countries differ on the celebration (some 6 weeks difference) and our neighbours to the south really do it up in grand style with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday...and it seems to even surpass Christmas as the "biggest holiday" in many circles. Leave in to Canada to start up Buy Nothing Day to coincide with Black Friday and includes this following gem among others...Whirl-mart: Participants silently steer their shopping carts around a shopping mall or store in a long, baffling conga line without putting anything in the carts or actually making any purchases.

Thanks for the updates guys.
cnangle that sounds like a great way to spend the day.
I was stationed in Virginia Beach Va. while in the the navy in the late 70's. It snowed there once. It was great to watch people freak out.
