Card Identification Forum

On the 1991 Topps Bazooka cards, there is a "not so subtle variation" on the card backs. The (base cards) show the full word "Bazooka" Spelled out, with pink, and blue letters, and pink, white, and blue background. The variation, only has the pink background, and letters "B z o k a". The blue background and letters "a o k" are missing. I am only showing the Rickey Henderson card for reference. But, 20 of the 22 cards, in the set listed in the database, show the variation. Should these be divided into 2 separate sets?

Considering the missing letters are blue and the lighter background is blue, my guess is that this is more of an ink level issue that a variation. Less blue was used on the one on the left. No VAR

Either that or contrast levels on the scans.  The white looks much whiter on the left.

The card on the Left is missing the light blue across the top, bottom and the 3 letters in bazooka. Probably not listable on TCDB.

Card on the left HAS the blue, but it's very faint. It's an inking level difference. Not a VAR TCDB would recognize..
