Hi all, sorry for the delay on this, I've been busy. Long story short, what I heard back from the person from Pacific is that plates that don't have the "Pacific 1/1 [color]" stamp on the backs are fake. Therefore,
1. Any current plate sets we have listed here that do have the stamp will remain with one possible exception...
2. We may still scrutinize/investigate plates that look suspect a bit more, generally the types I mentioned before that include elements on the plate that don't belong there because they would have been applied separately (like foil)
3. Missing checklists of plates that meet the stamp guideline (like the one mentioned by the OP) CAN be added. Ideally folks will request those through the proper channels going forward with IRs, though this was correctly asked about in a thread first, because it wasn't "Please add these" so much as "Should these be added."
4. We're in the process of chasing down and removing just a few sets that we now know no longer qualify. So far they've all been under hockey and are the following:
- 1999-00 Pacific Dynagon Ice - Press Plates
- 1999-00 Pacific Prism - Printing Plate
- 2000-01 Pacific Paramount - Printing Plates
- 2002-03 Pacific Prism Platinum McDonald's - Printing Plates
I just wanted to mention that somewhere so members didn't wonder why some of their cards disappeared
5. We're also working on adding comments to the sets that are having faked plates removed so they don't get re-added by accident in the future
I hope everyone involved/affected is reasonably satisfied with the outcome of this. Thank you for your patience and bringing this to the attention of the site as we were able to get a definitive answer that helps us with future questions!
