Okay, so I'm confused. There are now listings for each individual year of the St. Louis Cardinals Photocards starting from 1954, although there is still the listing for cards from 1953-54 as well. While I understand the interest in specifics, since players come and go during the years, but how do you tell them apart?
All of the sets for individual years from 1959 to 1964 include the same note:
1959-64 St. Louis Cardinals team-issued photocards include a dark line through the middle of the union label in the bottom right hand corner. Under magnification, the "line" actually is the word "Lithographers".
If all the cards have the same basic design for each of those years, how can I tell them apart?
I collect Carl Warwick cards. He has 3 cards listed here that fall under the 1959 to 1964 sets. As shown in the DB, all three have the same picture, facsimile signature, and union label (as far as I can tell) from the scanned images for each listing). Warwick has cards in the 61, 62, and 64 sets. He was actually with the Cardinals in 1961 after a trade in late May but spent a good portion of the season in the minors. He was with the Cardinals in 1962 until May 7th when he was traded away. 1964 was the only full season with the Cardinals. He was traded during the 1965 season.
So, did Warwick actually get three cards or have these checklists been put together for individual years by using the rosters for each team regardless of whether the Cardinals actually made a card of a player that year?
Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.
