Thanks for all the feedback.
It does indeed look like the 1960 Baltimore News-Post set is the same/similar. So thanks for identifying that one.
On the other concerns noted above, while I understand those concerns. Not sure I would agree with the "not sold by retailer" concern. Technically they were sold by retailers as you could buy the paper at the local convenience store through the cashier no different than buying a carton of milk with a football player's picture on it. Obviously a lot of people got them home delivered or through a newspaper vending machine but personally, I bought my newspaper at the local convenience store next to my college dorm. Plus every SGA set ever is not sold by retailers, except on the secondary market, including ones that were made by local printers, not card companies.
Also, the not made by a card company concern, there are literally hundreds of sets not made by "card companies" listed on the site (virtually every food issue before 1992; plenty of minor league and college sets are made by local printers like this one made by the local newspaper; heck there are even matchbook covers on the site; and of course milk caps and coke caps).
Not PSA graded. Did not know that was a requirement to be listed, and not sure how one would know if PSA would grade them or not as PSA probably does not even know the set exists yet (its from a Mississippi city of about 40,000 in 1988). I am sure if enough people sent them in, PSA would not turn down the cash. And if they don't grade them, I still don't know that it should matter as I would not think their business model covers everything on this site (i.e. coke caps on this site, PSA does not grade them).
