So from what I have read, Roy Jefferson owned a couple of restraunts closing the last one in 1992. That was when he opened a full time catering company, however he had been catering before that.  It is possible that he released this card in 1989 to help promote his brand new restraunts and start up the catering side of his business.

If you know an ad for the card was in a national publication in 1989 from the source that issued them, that would seem to be evidence enough that it is a 1989. Not sure it would be possible to get more information than that today. I suppose it is possible he had them printed earlier, but I can't imagine it being much earlier if he was advertising it in 1989.
