In looking at the Batch Numbers for all of the 1996 $5 Phone cards, based on the pics in the set on this site, Cards #1-10 all have a Batch Number of 1741167, and Cards #11-20 all have a Batch Number of 1741168 (Regardless of the S/Ns), so the batch numbers change after Card #10.
The Terrell Davis is card #10, I'm wondering if they meant to create a Terrell Davis card but when they realized they stamped it with the incorrect Batch Number for card #10 (They should have made it #1741167), and stamped it with a Batch Number that was reserved for cards #11-20, they scrapped the Terrell Davis card(s) and went with Emmitt Smith with the correct Batch Number?
And if they scrapped that card, they may have meant to destroy all of the Terrell Davis cards and this one, or very few in total, made it out to production? Hard to imagine they released 4929 Terrell Cards and not 1 reference exists anywhere on the internet (Had a T206 Honus Wagner ring to the story...lol)
Wish someone had a way to contact someone from Scoreboard, or Proline (Or maybe Sprint) that may know exactly what happened :-)
