Are these cards legit? They don't correspond with the checklist, and there seem to be design variations in eBay and comc images (layout of relics, shape of cutouts, background color around cutouts). Is anyone aware of forgeries floating around?

No but can you find evidence that any 5LLR-8 for Mantle exists at all? Besides your two pictures, there is one other Mel Ott on Ebay when searching the card number. Perhaps the checklist is incorrect, however the checklist also matches what is on baseballcardpedia.

I'm starting to think both checklists are wrong -- one may have been copied from the other. I see several inconsistent entries based on COMC card images (for sale and sold).
