There are 60 player cards that are part of an Australian NBA Board game.

I acquired these because there are a few with referees-in-the-background and now I would like to get them up on the site. I have yet to find an official checklist, however I have all 60 cards. 

1) Do these count as cards and are worthy of being on the site?
2) What is the best way for me to add them?

Has any grading company officially graded these cards? If not, I don't think they're allowed.

I would agree with Ed. If they are being graded then yes. If not then it would be like adding Monopoly property cards to the database as game pieces, which would not be allowed.

I don't see how these are any different from the set Randy linked, or these NFL cards. There's also these, which are basically game cards for an NFL-type Monopoly game.

Now, I am going to run the risk of opening up a can of worms here by bringing up the dreaded "E" word: exception. I understand that these cards may not fit those "other collectibles" criteria, but I think these are something that deserve consideration as an exception based on their nature. Yes, it's a slippery slope (and trust me, I've been on the other side of this whole thing before, on the side of not listing something for these reasons) but based on some of the stuff that's on here with an "exception granted" status (basically Admin's blessing), I think these need some further thought.

Just one man's two cents. At the end of the day, no matter how convincing my argument is, it would probably be best if all of the evidence and information possible was gathered up and sent in a nice, neat e-mail to Admin with an explanation that "it is understood these may not meet the hard and fast criteria in the FAQ, but think these deserve some consideration because [jasongerman9 said so or whatever you want to use as your reasoning]." What the boss man says, goes.

Top Trumps is a card manufacturer. If Topps, Panini, or Upper Deck were to create some sort of deck of cards, it would be listable.

Until I saw Jason's reply, I hadn't looked at the links (because it's basketball, and the heck do I know about basketball?). I have since looked at the links.

I'm conflicted, and I will present both sides here.

We do not list game cards that are simply text without pictures (Trivial Pursuit, AFPA, Stratomatic, etc.). These have player photos.

We have listed cards from games from the Pre-War era of cards. Not 100% sure if the different eras should be treated differently in this case (I know there are other things where they are, but I digress). I don't think those were produced by "trading card makers" in the sense that there were distinct card makers at that time (just not the companies we know today where that was their primary thing, so in that regard, we do treat the era differently).

Those are the reasons "for". Now the other shoe.

They are not made by a card maker, nor inserted into a card product.

They were not issued in "packs" like trading cards (if they were, even if by a non-card maker, they would qualify because then they'd be "tradable").

They do not meet any of our criteria for inclusion.

Like I said, I'm torn. They really don't meet the criteria for inclusion, but I can certainly see how they would be collectible (but just like pocket schedules and the like, collectible doesn't mean "includable").

I'm erring on the side of "don't add". Sorry.

What I find interesting about the '94 game is that while it uses the same Jam Session logo that the main Fleer product uses, it doesn't note Fleer on the cards, at least that I can tell. The '95 game does have Fleer on the back. It's also possible cards could be different if they were released in different countries.
