I don't have a check list. I've got 3 over size cards handed out at the game. If I remember correctly, they were handed out over the entire season. Would explain 3 different variations on the backs. Simply curious if anyone else has them or knows more than I can remember. Thanks

The 2004 Standard Catalog labeled them "1985 Pittsburgh Pirates Promotional Dates Cards" and described them as follows:
Again in 1985 the Pirates produced and sold via mail-in offer a set of postcard-size advertsing cards, which were also distributed at Three Rivers Stadium. The 3-3/8" x 5 1/4" cards feature on front player portraits and facsimile autographs. In the white bottom border are the player's name, position and uniform number. Backs are printed in black-and-white and contain an ad for an upcoming game at which promotional items were to be given away, fireworks displayed, etc. The Kent Tekulve card was withdrawn early in the card distribution cycle when he was traded to the Phillies.
The SCD listed 24 total cards, including the Tekulve:
Bill Almon
Rafael Belliard
Mike Bielecki
John Candelaria
Jose DeLeon
Tim Foli
George Hendrick
Steve Kemp
Sizto Lezcano
Bill Madlock
Lee Mazzilli
Larry McWilliams
Jim Morrison
Jose Ortiz
Tony Pena
Johnny Ray
Rick Rhoden
Don Robinson
Rod Scurry
Chuck Tanner
Kent Tekulve
Jason Thompson
Lee Tunnell
Marvell Wynne
The SCD doesn't mention back variations, so those would need to be identified.

Are you saying each player has multiple cards with different backs?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thank you kindly for the information. Yes, each player had his own print version on the back. I've got 2 of Sixto & they're both the same. I'm unsure how to attach more photos for you on here.
Really, thank you for digging that up. It's about the memories, not needing to catalog them.

This is confusing. C2C asks if each player had multiple back versions and the answer is "yes, each player had his own" and "Sixto ...are both the same".
Which is it, each player has a single back type (but there are 3 different backs across the set), or each player could have up to 3 different backs?

I can shoot an email or pop up another card identification thread to get you the photos of Sixto if you'd like. Phone & tablet are all I have at the moment, laptop bit the dust. I've tried including photos in this thread & it's not allowing it on a mobile device.

I'd prefer if you simply answered my question.

Written plainly, didn't mean to do anything but help. Each player has their own printed backing variation - that I'm aware of. Meaning Sixto has the same card back on the two copies I have had since '85 but are different from the other cards handed out at the stadium. Each was its own advertisement of some sort. Sixto is Gulf Painters Hat June 14th 1985. You see Pena's & Rhoden's card back is of an autographed baseball giveaway sponsored by Baby Ruth & Butterfinger.

Then no variations. That's like saying each player in the 1985 Topps set has it's own back version.

I have no idea. *They vary from player to player*. All I'm telling you is what's in front of me as my memory fails me a lot. I cannot begin to remember, that's why it's up on the forum, help with a card. Variations beyond player to player I do not know.
