OK, question #2. The Mac Jones "variations" are even more stupid than some of the others. The base card features the colors of the Patriots and correctly identifies the team as "New England".  For some reason I can't fathom, the intentionally released variation features the colors of the 49ers and lists the team as "San Francisco".

How should I list this?  For the other cards, I have notes that read "PRxxxx, VAR" with a note2 field that describes the variations.   For this one I'm less certain. Do I list the team as the San Francisco 49ers or leave it as the Patriots?  Do I list this as a variation as with the other cards, or should this be listed instead as a UER?  

Not really looking for an answer to this one, but why the !&^!*#@^ would Leaf decide this was a good idea?  I'm sure they could come up with some other variation that didn't link the player to the wrong team!

It's actually sort of clever in its own way. They are duplicating what Pro Set did back in 1990 with some of their promo cards. Take a look at this set. Jeff George went #1 overall to the Indianapolis Colts but they also printed cards of him going to New England and Atlanta. They've even duplicated the "Scouting Photo" seen on the original cards.

As for how to list the cards, I'll leave that to folks better versed in that than I am.

In fairness to Leaf and what was mentioned by Big Ray this may be what tthey have done in the past. Considering the lead time to develop and produce cards these could have been done and packaged before the draft. If so, his team wasn't known yet so Leaf could have pulled what Pro Set did and put him on a card for teams he was linked to in pre-draft talk.

Food for thought. 

Wait, did I just read another post from 3am saying that this is an On-Demand set? If so, this would be Leaf just trying to be cute and not really in the spirit of the past.

Yes, it was a gimmick they did in the past.  Produce cards of a player with each team that might possibly draft them.  They're bound to hit the correct one and have a jump on the other companies with the "first" RC released.

Of course, then there's Panini who doesn't even bother guessing, they just put the RC logo on college cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I seem to recall when he was HOT there was a "set" of Johnny Manziel draft cards of at least a dozen cards or maybe it was just a top 10 possible prosect teams he would land on.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball. Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers -  Autograph cards - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies).
