I have a 1980 Topps #582 Brian Doyle card. The back appears to have been double printed. Would this be considered an error card? ------------------------------- AwgyDawgy Looking for Cubs and Bears "I fight on my knees."

Yes that is just a printing error. BUT there might be a few on here that would want it.

I just noticed that there is a card in the 1993 Topps (#96 Russ Swan) listed as an error due to it being double printed, although the pictures do not appear to show that. I'm wondering why that is an error card and this one is not. ------------------------------- AwgyDawgy Looking for Cubs and Bears "I fight on my knees."

If it exists on every example, then it's an ERR, with or without a COR version. If it's just one random example, then it's just a mistake.

Speaking as an error collector, it's one of the rarer kinds, I've only added three to my collection, and my error collection is somewhere north of 500 cards.

One is a design change to the card (none of the rest of the black text on the Swan is double printed), the other a random printing flaw. If you look at the text for "Complete Major League Pitching Record" on the back of the card, you cannot read it in the a version of the card. It is easy to tell in hand which is the error and which is not, and as was stated above that is the only text that is double printed.

This may be a candidate to re-scan the error back now that we have the ability to zoom in.
