Hey All, I'm relatively new to the site and am diligently uploading my collection (which will apparently take a considerably longer time than I anticipated). There are a number of entries that don't have prices or images on the site. My questions is; as images and prices appear or are uploaded, will the coresponding data/images be updated in my collection? I do plan on contributing by scanning and uploading images but am curious about the process. This is the most fun I've had with my collection in a long time, and my wife is glad I'm wiping the dust off the boxes in the garage and moving them outta her way!

The simple answer is yes to both. However take pricing with a grain of salt as base card pricing is seldom updated since it's all member maintained. I don't put much stock in the price function, but I do enter prices for rare cards that come up for auction.

Welcome to the site. I too, when I joined, found this to be the most rewarding new piece to my hobby. Two years later and still enjoying. As Mr. Buddha before me said, yes to both. The images you are able to upload will greatly contribute to other members as it really helps in identifying specific cards, be it old or new, especially new with all of the possible variants and parallels. As for the price, don't put too much stock in it unless there are multiple prices entered for the one card.
Have fun, ask questions when in dooubt, either here in the forum or directly to Admin. They are most helpful, especially when first starting out.

A lot of members turn the price feature off because we aren't really a price guide. Old prices never drop off where determining the mean of prices is concerned, so if a guy was a bum two years ago and a superstar now, his old cheap prices keep his card values down today. Likewise, if a guy was a stud out of college and never panned out as a pro, his high prices from draft day would inaccurately keep his card values high. Like the others said, take the prices with a grain of salt, because you don't know who, where, or when, the info came from. And welcome to the site!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I hope you have cards you can scan to add to Data base. I down to less then 1000 cards I can add. If I trade card and a image is needed I try to scan it before sending it away. If I scan a cards front and back, crop it I get 3. points. Points show others how active you are on site. Also helps with your self esteem. I moved up from rookie beanch warmer to Playmaker. How to find cards you have tha need and Image?
Go to your collection and down at the bottom there is an option for "cards in my collection missing scans" , with options for each sport.
Hope you can help just 15 to 30 minutes a day doing it.. Only 25% of the cards have an image. Ask members for assistance. Go to " Things to do" under QUICK LINKS and see what can be done. See why card images were rejected, and after a few times where you cropped the cards and you did great your cards you scan and crop will go right to the page as you will get clearance to do so. Oh I have only been a member since Aug of 2016, 5 months.
Feel free to e-mail me. Billy Kingsley has a great cropping program link on his blog.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Welcome to the site, It is always a grat help if you have a card and there isn't a scan associated with it thenby all means scan front and back. Once you have your permissions correct any other card problems or ommisions, like MEM, SN, team, etc.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.
