Well the same IP address would be bad as my teenage son also uses the site and has traded with a few of you folks.
I think we need to be careful adding all these protections, I think just warning members to use common sense and check feedback will be helpful.
I also like the idea your cards wont show for trade if you have not logged in for 6 months.
Also drives me crazy some people have all these cards they want but nothing to trade. I am just hoping they are new and working on it, But drives me and statsnerdson batty
Edit "My proposal was basically to deny the trading/selling function until all the transactions are made right."
I don't think this is proper. You can't make everybody happy. I remember a cartoon in a paper one time and the eye doctor asked the patient (older lady) if we burned down the office, fired the entire staff and gave you a free visit would that make you happy? she still said no.. so on ebay folks might get one or 2 bad buyers and in here that opens up trouble in my book.
I have only had 2 major problems here. One a package arrived to me and the contents stolen. not the traders fault and another was a trader who did not package the cards in anything. I wont trade again with that person but let people make the choice to trade or not trade. I will trade with new people but they must send first.

I would agree to a feature of not being able to transact until any problem transactions are completed/taken care of first.
I admit I've had some issues sometimes with getting trades out. Usually it's due to deep depression and just not having the energy, drive to do anything. I do, however, try to keep in contact and update my trading partners of the situation. It just may not be on a timeline they would prefer, and I understand that.

Mike, as you stated, and I believe it is of utmost importance yet seems to be overlooked is that this is restorative in nature. Honestly it has more to do with those who have had 100% positive feedback and have run into issues with trades/sales.

I like the idea of a probation period. When I was brand new, I would have completely understood the need for me to prove myself a worthy trading partner. Let everyone start by putting their best foot forward! And with apologies to Sportzcommish, I just wanted to let those interested know that I started a new thread about trade matching filters. Carry on

Maybe something like this would help when you are looking to accept or propose an offer.
Add an area that shows how many offers are in-transit and in-transaction a member has going on. Right below Completed transactions. If someone has 20 deals going on you may want to wait.

I see the desire for the new feature to be added however I had some slight issues with it how it read so I added a comment to the actual feature request. I think that it is needed and it is good.

I agree wit h Sportzcommish 100%, more than a couple flagrant trades, should be suspended. I have a trade now that shows accepted, mailed mine October 5th, there end shows only accepted.
But I really agree with brodiescomics. I have thought this ever since I joined. Most of the time I search by card to see who has it and the vast majority of the time the person hasn't signed in in months or years. So frustrating. I wanted to post about this so many times but thought I would be roasted. These BOTH need to happen. Lets get behind it!!!!!!!!

Sadly I feel like any site or business and it gets ignored. Kind of like a person commits a crime against someone, they have more rights than the victim. I love this site, rejuvenated my love and interest in collecting again but always fear getting scammed.

If you go to a card and click on Mentions Now there is an option to list only Logged in last 30 days.
Would be easier if it was an option at the recent Matches and Match items on your Want list with items on other members' For Sale / Trade lists Report. It would save a lot of time. There are feature request for both of them.

I think it would be beneficial to also be able to weed out traders who have not logged in for years. For example, I use the "recent matches" feature a bunch. It sucks when I find some good matches and find out the person has been inactive since 2018.
