There is a minor league team near me that was dropped from the shrinking of minor league baseball in covid. They since have bought the rights to three other names used by other minor league teams that are long gone and made an independent league. Should a new TID be made under an independent league for the 4 teams? There are already cards for each team but I think 2 of them only have the cards from when they went independent.

Independent minor league teams have always been under Minors, so no need for new TIDs.

If the TID already exists, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to make a second with the same name anyway. For instance, the Washington Nationals have cards from 1887, even though the team which exists today played its first season in 2005.

They are still considered minor leagues- whether they are affiliated or not.

Even if they are college summer league teams, they still belong.

That makes sense. I was just seeing a tab for minor league and one for independent league, so I didn't know.
