Most traders get right back with an update one way or the other. And it works great. But I've had a handful that just never respond. If it sits for 2 weeks or so without a response I generally withdraw because I'm making other trades and maybe not all cards are still available. What seems reasonable to you all?
Thanks for the input.

Unsure how long but I feel your pain, I have sent out some requests recently and most haven't bothered to respond which is a shame as it's hard finding some of the cards I'm after

Seems that when people aren't at all interested most of the time they just don't respond instead of declining which is a shame. I guess they feel declining is rude or that they need to provide a reason but it would be much preferable for the offerer if it was promptly declined instead of leaving it hanging there. I usually give it 1-2 weeks before withdrawing.

If it's on a trade I initiated or countered with no subsequent response then I withdraw within a week. Then I add the member to my no trade list.

It depends on the cards I'm hoping the member will send me in the trade. If there are some cards I really need to complete a set, for example, I might give the member a little more time, or even reach out to them with a separate message after 2 or 3 weeks. On the other hand, if the cards can easily be found elsewhere, like in another member's trade list, I'll just withdraw the trade after a week or two.
Ultimately, it should be common courtesy for a member to reply to a trade request in a timely manner, even if it's just to decline it. But I suppose you never know what other things that member might have on their plate.

Honestly, I give it maybe 2-3 days, unless the person says something in that timeframe. This is a trading site, it's why we are here. If you can log on each day (which we can tell on your profile), then you have 30 seconds to click on Transactions and respond to a pending trade. Even just to say "hey, saw this, out of town until Thursday, but interested," that's fine. You can do it while on the toilet. Nobody is THAT busy. It's ruder to ignore a person than to be honest and upfront. I try to respond to people within a couple hours, personally. Seems the decent thing to do.

I am very inexpierienced on here, in regard to trading. I generally only upload card images and usually just of one player. However, I have done a handful of trades. All but one, the other person has initiated. I made a trade in every case and even if I didn't want to trade, would have responded very quickly via message to explain. The one trade i initiated, which is active now for a few days, has garnered no response. No decline, no nothing. I had trouble using the part of the trade in which you select the cards you want to trade and they show up as a checklist. When I tried it, only one card showed up and when I tried to list other ones, it just showed as duplicates of the same card. So I used the text method and I thought, clearly stated what I wanted and what I would offer. I used the match other members want list and for sale/trade feature to find someone. The person in question has logged on since, so maybe they're just not interested, but if that's the case, I'd rather they just let me know that.

I once left a trade proposal I had made for 6 months just to see if the other member would ever respond. He was logged on the site almost every day but nothing ever was received, so I finally gave up the experiment and withdrew it. I can understand the issues we are seeing in society today but not to respond even by simply Declining a trade without a message, I cannot understand. Those who perplex me the most are those who post in the Forums that they are seeking trades yet when I message them that I am interested in doing a trade, I get no response.
I don't often make trade proposals mainly because too many will decline as it means crossing the border and they don't wish to learn how to ship across the 49th parallel economically (including finding the USPS worker who understands USPS postage regulations). Fortunately, there are enough excellent traders here who do "cross" the border, especially those seeking the Canadian product, and who make fair offers on a regular basis. When I get an offer, I do my best to respond within a day even if it is to say that it will take me a few days to either pull the cards or counter due to other trades ahead in the queue. If I make an offer, I will usually reach out once after 3-4 days to see if they are interested. But most of the time, I will message first to see if it is worth my time to propose something, or more often I suggest to them that if interested, to make a trade proposal, expressing what I am most interested in from their traders.

I have 2 trades proposed 6-7 weeks ago with no response, both others have logged in within the last 2 days. Perhaps we should start using the feedback system to help members. I once left a proposed trade sit for over 6 months with someone who posted daily in the forum but did not have the decency to respond

I will usually give it a week as well, but I will send a private message to the trader with an open invitation to trade in the future. I have had one or two members reply back saying that they have been busy or will keep it in mind. I figure it's worth a shot to keep the bridge upright even if it only seems to be a one-way bridge at this point.
