RSM- We had breakfast with the family and planned ahead both collections and TCDB.
1. We decided to handle each sport separately ex. R= baseball, S= football, M= Hockey/Basketball and Non-Sports.
2. After discussing the TCDB, we would do the same using the same logon. I'm not sure the trader manager will initially be of help as we want to just post.....1980 Topps Baseball to trade- 5 monster boxes. We are not sorting all the inventory boxes, so we are not sure what cards are missing. Figure we will have to trade that way to start.
3. Some questions about TCDB, but that can wait.

I'm really not sure what this new member is trying to communicate to the group here?

I dont see how we can trade for what is in the monster boxes if they aren't inventoried. I know what I need but also need to know if you have them to initiate a trade.

Mr. Swagger, Please see our initial post, newbies, That explains everything
Mr. ravenfaith. True, but for ex regarding 1980, I'm sure we have every common, minor star in the set, you would have to ask about Stars, RC and ERRs/Var, With the following monster box inventory, we are looking at 1-20 boxes each from Topps, UD, Score, Donruss, Fleer and more. We would sort when you ask. RSN

Perhaps linking to that post you want people to refer to might help. There are thousands of members and thousands of threads. Are you trading? Most people will want an uploaded trade list to refer to. All traders have been through that process. It takes time but its a reality. Even if you upload one box and put a note on your profile saying "ask if you dont see it" will get people talking to you. Otherwise people will just mive on Im afraid...

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

It is indeed cryptic. It sounds like coded messages destined to spies in the old TV series. "Mr. Green, Take book 10, page 283, exercise 123, I repeat, Mr. Green, Take book 10, page 283, exercise 123. This message will self-destruct!" :)

RSM-
Your initial post sounds like it was meant to record information for reference by a few people who are using one account to all work on one collection. If you have messages that you want to share amongst yourselves but not necessarily with all of the TCDB membership, you can PM (private message) yourself and it will show up in your message box and not on the open forum.

Dear Tom and other members,
We are trying to trade massive amounts of inventory. I see many members write " Need any 19xx cards", that's what wer're trying to do. The problem is we don't have time to sort 100+ monster boxes. So we figure by just posting we have 5 monster boxes, pick your cards, but for any specific stars etc, you would have to PM us with requests. ex. We have 1980 Topps Baseball to trade. Members can indicate their interest, and think they can "complete" their set...but I know there is NO R. Henderson RC in the traders.for ex.
Now we could use the trade manager, but we would list the WHOLE SET and if you include R.Henderson, we don't have it and we would have adjust the trade.
We really can't explain it any other way, sorry. So, when we get a chance, we will post what's available or just list them in the trade manager whichever you think is better. RSM
Note` we will sign off with RSM or R, or S or M depending which cards each of us are handling.

As other members have mentioned, your posts are indeed cryptic.
Who is "we"? Are there multiple members of your family using the same user name, hence the initials "R', 'S', and 'M'? Is each letter representative of a different member? If so, it would be if you introduced yourselves.
On this site, we sort and list our cards for trade. This is how we are able to determine who has what, and begin to facilitate the trading process.
If you are looking to move many monster boxes of cards without listing what you have or caring to take the time in organizing and listing each, then perhaps a Facebook or Craiglist forum is better. Not many people might want to wait for you to take the time to see if you have a specific card after mentioning what they need. That's not how it works here.
If you do indeed want to take the time to go through and list the contents of one box, see if that works and what the response is. That might be a better gauge of how you could go forward.
Best of luck.
