Anyone regularly in the Forums knows of the incident that occured this week where insults were made by a member towards another member. It does not matter the circumstances of the victim, insults are not permitted in the Forums as per Admin's rules located here https://www.tcdb.com/ForumRules.cfm which state
"Post, distribute, or otherwise make available or transmit any data, text, message, or computer file that we deem to be: (a) defamatory, abusive, harassing, insulting, threatening, or that could be deemed to be stalking; (b) bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive; (c) vulgar, obscene, or sexually explicit (language or images); or that (d) encourages or advocates illegal activity or the discussion of illegal activities with the intent to commit them;".
In the past, two other esteemed members of this community have been banned from posting in the Forums due to infractions similar to the one of this week. This is a quote (with the name of the individual replaced with "XXX") from a discussion about one of those members who was banned previously, "the report was related to XXX attacking another member personally. It had nothing to do with cards or XXX’s previous disagreements with members about errors, variations, etc. It was a direct, personal attack. XXX had been asked to stop attacking that person in that same post but he instead chose to double down and continue the attack." This resulted in the member being banned without a chance for probation.
So, inquiring minds want to know, has this latest infraction of the rules caused a third member to be banned?
As well, I was reading another thread this morning that, though not as direct as the incident this week, was also bordering on crossing the line. It might be time for everyone to read the Forum rules once again so that we have fewer of these questionable posts.

I will admit that the forums have been kind of, "hostile," as of late. I think that it will eventually stop but of course if it continues then a ban should be put in place. I an just going to say I don't think that it was severe enough for XXX to be deserving a ban.

Thanks - TwinKiller. (Luke)

Certainly not excusing anyone's behavior here, but in my experience, this site is among the very best at staying on topic and staying civil.
I'm part of another discussion group, about baseball, and insults are regularly tossed about, not in a cute way, but in a cutting, nasty way. As far as I can see, other than other members calling those people out, there are no consequences.
Here, that stuff is rare and swiftly dealt with when it does happen.
so I want to credit Admin and the members for this.
v3
(that said, last week got a bit rough)

I can second that, I can see that the member still has an active profile, and has in fact logged in today as well. I caught the tail end of the exchange in question and agree that it was very far out of line, and I am hoping that the right people make the appropriate decisions and actions regarding this.
Along with TwinKiller, I have also noticed some hostility in another forum thread recently, but upon another member making a post about how inappropriate it was, the offending member walked their comment back, and issued an apology. Beacuse of the two different situations, and the two following sets of actions/inactions, I think it is reasonable to view these two incedents somewhat diferently that one another.
From what I have seen on TCDB, I would also like to credit Admin for keeping the forums and the users in line, in turn making this a better place for everyone. It is one of the reasons I have enjoyed it here, and hopefully will continue to do so for much, much longer. I hope the appropriate people make the appropriate decisions and actions to keep the peace here.

As expected, a double standard. He attacked another member twice in the same thread and yet is free to do so again because he is part of the guard. Nice!

The other topic about this was closed, and you aren't going to bait me into anything. Enjoy your Saturday.

The only double-standard I'm seeing right now on the site is people claiming to be for second chances but not willing to forgive someone who is a regular contributor to the site, valuable member of the community, who misspoke and apologized within 8 hours of said posts. That's the true double-standard on display this week.

On top of all this, the member publicly apologized for his words too.
Mean? Yes. Deserving a ban? No.
