Curious......Has any member followed the Upgrade To Premiun? link?

If so, other than being Ad-Free, Are there any other perks? Why are there different amounts $$, the more you upgrade the better the site? Is it completely Ad-Free, or varies with $$ paid?

Is it faster?

I think the amount is up to the member, with a $5 dollar minimum. Ad-free is why I chose it and have been happy ever since. I am unaware of any other perks mentioned when the upgrade became available.

I see that you sponsor Peyton Manning. What does that entail?

Cigars...entails really nothing...just a way of acknowledging a favorite player, advertising yourself etc. No cost, I did it almost the moment I started on TCDB...~BOB~

I upgraded to Premium about a year ago. I love it. The site is about twice as fast as it was before...all the lag time is caused by ads. It's so fast now I was able to post a 350 card set that I have almost complete in a matter of hours instead of over two days.

It does automatically reoccus every month so I went with the minimum of $5. I'd like to do more, but sometimes the cost of the  medicine that keeps me alive makes more than that impossible. Never know what will be available so can't risk it.

But for $5, to 2x the speed seems pretty reasonable to me.

Well worth it...I don't plan to ever go back to basic. If I want to look for a specific ad (I do occasionally) I pull up the Database with a different browser.

I did it for about a year, sped things up incredibly.  Then last fall, I dropped premium, as I took a few months away from cards and wasn't using the site at all.  When I started back up again in December, the lag was driving me nuts, so I re-upped a couple weeks ago, and I can ABSOLUTELY see the difference.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, if Bob has sponsored the P. Manning page, I think that makes the P. Manning page ad-free for everyone.  Bob's name shows up where an ad would usually show up.  I could be wrong about that, but it is my understanding of page sponsorship.
