IIRC the original uploader whose images are being replaced for better ones won't lose credit for what they submitted. The only person that would be losing points in this process would be the person that uploaded the (good) images in the wrong spot after an IR is submitted to clear them out.

That's what this feature request will avoid.

In the case where I "moved" the images per Admin's request, Admin went in and credited the uploaders with the "credit". That was because we (the site) added incorrect information to the site, and we made good.

The situation you describe is actually rewarding members who post images in the wrong location. They should have their images removed and lose points for uploading to the wrong location.
