I have submitted a new feature request, that will allow us to submit 1 IR to replace existing images with better ones, that have already been uploaded.
Credit will still be given to the original uploader of the images being replaced.

I'm confused what you're asking for. Anyone that submits an IR on a card for Low Quality, Photographed, etc., it marks the card to allow anyone else to upload a new image.

That's not exactly what your Feature Request is about. Replacing images already exists; it's a Level 7 permission. Your request is about Moving an image to a new location that already has an image.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Ed,
This request is about replacing an existing set of images with better ones already on the site.
Right now, I need to submit an IR to have the bad images deleted before I can submit an IR to move the better images over.
I can also currently save the good images to my computer, submit an IR for Low Quality and then upload the replacements myself. I get the credit for uploading them, but I believe that original uploader of the images should get it.
What this request will do, is combine that into one IR.

If you are Level 7 (or Level 8), you need not submit IRs for each image, you can simply replace ANY image on the site. This new feature request is redundant to the features already in place.

Dan,
Can you replace it with an existing set of images on the site?

I think this is what Kevin is driving at - and I haven't read the request but I had a recent run-in with this.
Let's say someone submits a scan for a Panini Prizm base card, #1. The scan itself is a good , but the image is of the Blue parallel #1. Then, a day later, someone else uploads the correct image to the Blue parallel card #1, but the scan is terribly dark and virtually indistinguishable. In these instances, Admin has allowed for one IR to be entered to remove the image from the Blue parallel, and then another IR to move the correct image from Base to Blue (since it was uploaded first and a much better scan).
I believe Kevin's suggestion is to cut that process from two IRs to one, and simply move the correct - and better - image to the correct location.
-------------------------------
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Jason,
You're right. That's exactly what I want it to do.
It can be requested by anyone, but only proposed by a Level 6 or higher.

Any Level 7+ can do this by saving the good image and then using it to replace the bad image. I've done it many times. If I see a wrong image and then go to the correct location and see there's already an image there but it looks worse, I replace it.

This is exactly what I wound up doing with a set that we were (mistakenly) told had variations for the entire set then it was for only one series. I went through and grabbed the good images from the wrong cards, and replaced the old, poorer images (and this was all done by Admin's request). This is really unnecessary.
