What's up with this company? Several sets from them have been added to the database lately. Do they have any licenses? Publishing NHL cards when UD has the rights seems bit shady. Only info I found of them is their instagram page. https://www.instagram.com/taigahockeycards/?hl=en

Completely unlicensed cards that contain current/active players are not allowed in the database. Please submit IRs to have the offending sets removed.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

They look a lot nicer than most of the 2021 sets that are out there.

With the name Taiga and the Bear on it, looks like it is some Russian company.

There was a Kraken one in the IRs. I sent it right to ADMIN.
EDIT: NJDevils may be on the right track. Looks like a European Company of some sort.

Most of their sets are IIHF cards, Not NHL cards, The only ones that are NHL players is a set of Kracken, Which would have to be looked into as they might of made arrangements to make these seeing there is no Kraken cards in Upper Deck

I'm the one who submitted the Kraken IR. I saw this thread and then poked around online a bit. The only place I could find these Taiga cards for sale was one eBay seller based in Russia. I flagged the Kraken set since Upper Deck has the exclusive rights to the NHL/NHLPA. I don't know much about IIHF so I didn't submit anything for those sets.
On a releated note, there's also an "Ampir" Kraken set in the database and also another IIHF one by them. My guess? People are taking advantage of supply chain issues and are releasing unlicensed Seattle Kraken cards hoping to make some money before the real ones come out from Upper Deck.

The Kraken sets need to go. Official word from Admin:
Yes, it should be removed since it contains current players, unless it can be shown that they have some sort of deal to produce the cards for the team or the league.

The latest IIHF cards on the Instagram link show the trademarks on the back. Also autographed cards, but I guess they could be forged. But they look pretty legit to me. I haven't seen the Kraken ones.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
