I've read that you get 5 points for submitting checklists, but though I've submitted a few checklists which were used for new sets, I haven't gotten any points. It's not a big deal, but I'm confused.

I think I read somewhere that some points get added as the items (CLs, scans, pricing, etc.) are accepted, and some stuff gets added to your total at month end. Hopefully someone else may be able to confirm this or not.

Points are very interesting & I still don't fully understand them. I do know the best way to get points is by adding card scans into the database. Overall, it adds up over time. It's not an instant thing and it takes a little bit of time for the system to catch up.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I should have said this in the first post, but I forgot. I read that the points would be updated at the end of the month, but I submitted them in July.

If you submit a checklist through a set request, youdo not get the points. You need to be the one who uploads the checklist. If you have a checklist for a set that isn't listed yet, when you make the set request state that you have the checklist that you will upload. Otherwise, those of us who do the "behind the scenes" work assume a set request that comes in without a checkllist means that the submitter of the request does not have it. Most people who have not moved up to being able to add sets on their own generally don't like uploading checklists either.
I see Jim already posted a link to the FAQ. Uploading images for the site gets you points (whether that be for cards, packaging, etc.). Checklist uploads are 5 points. Those points you receive upon completion of the item getting posted (in the case of images, they usually have to go through a screening, and the points post to your profile when the image is accepted).

Also if there was an error in the submission and it gets taken down your points get removed. IDK if this is your case but a posibility.

Just a question... This past month I helped fix some IR's , cleaned up some player names that had their position listed in the name. field. And some other things.. I kept track of all the edits I made and it totaled over 10,000. I only got credit for 1,132 points.. Just wondering why ??? It took me all month to help fix these things to make the site better..

You don't get a point for every edit; otherwise people would be editing the same name over and over and over to point farm.

Yeah, I wasn't aware that points were awarded for edits. Technically someone already earned the point for the submission, no points for the same submission that is just edited. Points aren't everything, they help for permissions, but just feel good that you added something that was missing or foxy something that's going to help other members. Take pride that you made a difference, shouldn't need points to help you feel that way.
