Strangely quiet. I hope he's OK...

I sent him a PM this morning and have not heard back. 

On Twitter, he mentions that he is taking a break from cards to pursue his NASCAR diecast collection.

I tend to think he's okay. He did state in his last blog that he was pulling away from card collecting and wouldn't be around as much. He's concentrating on his die-cast collection right now; his first love.

Oh good.

I was just wondering the same last night, so I tweeted him.  Among other things, FireNBeers is correct, he pretty much is working on a few other projects and a bit burnt out of card collecting at the moment.  As he replied to me "I'm never okay, but I'm alive and kicking".  I was a bit concerned because he hadn't logged in or blogged or even tweeted in over a week, so I felt like a check was in order.  I hope if there are others like that who go "radio silent" for a while that you can check on them if you can. It's why I usually try to log in or tweet daily or every few days.

Thanks for asking. I have for all intents and purposes left the website. I chose not to make a dramatic post, or a big deal about it, I just simply didn't come to the website. 

It had gotten to the point where I dreaded coming on here every day, so I just...didn't. There are some things that have gone on here over the past few months that just sucked all the fun out of it...a couple of those things have been building up over a period of years. Just had enough. I didn't even bother to check and see how the last issue was "resolved". By then, I was past the point of caring.

I am not saying I'm gone forever- I still have two trades I'm waiting for, that I need to mark as completed when they arrive, which I will do. And, there are times where I'll need to look something up, so I'm back to where I was before October 2012.

But for my own mental health I had to be done for now.

Also, I really am burned out on the hobby- I have not even opened the last 4 or 5 trades I got.  This is supposed to be a hobby, not a burden. 

As for Twitter...I really don't like Twitter. I consider it a cesspool. I maintain an account because that's where the sports people post. If you @ me I get a notification on my phone so it's usually only a few hours max before I will see it. I'm on Facebook much more often. I'm also still working on my original website. Public Home | El Camino Billy | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy. Hit the "What's New" and you'll see that it's several pages worth of NASCAR diecast stuff...my true passion. 

I honestly didn't think people would notice that I wasn't here, or care. I suspect some are happier that way. 

Do what's best for you, Sir. I have to admit I was worried thoigh...

Billy, you are one of the good ones. Nice to know that you are pursuing more joyous passions!

Glad to know you're doing OK, Billy. Although we've never traded, I've always enjoyed reading your posts on here and especially appreciate your positive attitude about the hobby.
