There's an RC tag obviously for baseball...but why nothing that denotes a 1st Bowman, they're a huge part of the baseball collecting community and hobby and it would certainly be helpful for alot of folks right?

TCDB does not denote any "first <insert brand> card" of any type, and singling out one brand would not work. If the site were to do that with Bowman, then it would have to do the same for Topps, Fleer, Donruss, Leaf, Stadium Club, Ultra, Studio, Upper Deck, Score, SP, SPx, Ovation, UD Masterpieces, Topps Gallery, and so on. The entire 1989 Bowman set would all get "First Bowman Card". This just doesn't work.

Just like the Beckett-created "XRC", Topps created "1st Bowman" to generate desire for non-RC cards. Since they can't put the RC logo on non-rookie cards, they're circumventing the MLBPA rules and tagging them "1st Bowman". In hopes of increasing sales for minor leaguer cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Photoshopped or not, they're cards of the player in an MLB uniform, they are not minor league cards. Not comparable to products like Heritage Minors or Pro Debut in my opinion. Regardless of whether you folks care about them or not, there's a large portion of the hobby that does, they end up being the "chase" card to get in a lot of instances. That being said, not something in particularly care about chase. Just interesting to me.

Honest question - What makes a "First Bowman Card" any more (or less) special than a first Topps Heritage card or any other brand?

I'm with the OP, but for a different reason.
First Bowman cards are not are not necessarily more special than first of other brands, but it is a different card. Why are the "Future Stars" cards called out in the 2020 Topps set when those are no different than the player's base card? How is it cherrypicked which card features are deserving of an abbreviation and which are not? I'd say the 1st Bowman is a lot more significant than a Future Stars or All Star Rookie note.

Yea this was going to be my next point actually, TCDB seems to denote everything else a card says except the 1st Bowman designation haha, which whether these folks want to acknowledge or not is super important to alot of collectors. I definitely think from 2006-present it's an important designation to alot of folks.
