You may not be the problem here. Some think they know everything including how to tell the difference between a scan and a photograph.

I looked at a couple of your most recent submissions (that came through) and they have uneven coloration (which is typical of photographs).
Which scanner are you using? Are you scanning with the lid closed?

Bumping this thread today because the OP is always a great reminder for new and veteran members, and also because I'm seeing lots of newer members submitting photos that aren't remotely acceptable. For the folks doing that,
Do you accept photographed images of cards?
For images of cards that are added to the general site, photographs are not accepted. This is to maintain an even quality in the images. Some of the problems with photographed cards are image skewing because of the lens angle and lighting irregularities because of the flash or ambiance.
If you are using the site to track your collection, you can submit images of your cards into your collection. Photographed images are fine in that case.
Photographed images are also fine for the Card Identification Forum.
I'm not here to name and shame anybody, but hopefully to make the folks uploading photos aware that they won't be accepted. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute new scans the proper way!

After a few private conversations with long standing members of this great site I have made it my decision to remid people of a deeply buried project that was done FOR A REASON. Please take the time to READ it and then just maybe some of this incorrect and irritating issues will subside. Also a reminder that this that I ask you to read was submitted and approved by Admin so it is obviously an important part to learning the site. My personal grind is XRC, please do not use it as it is not an offical term and was manufactured by people in the industry to suck more money from your pockets. It is personally my pet project on here (which has been pathetic for the past few years) to remove any and all XRCs from this site. That term belongs to the place starting with a B and nothing more. Rant done.

Proper cropping is pretty important. By that I mean just the card, no white or black lines around the outside edges of the scan, as my scanner seems to want to do. Scanning both the front side and back side (when possible) of the card. That should help cut down on your rejections, as anyone can find a front pic on ebay or some such site. Make sure also that your scan is centered, not lopsided or on an angle. If the card you are scanning has a border, eye it up (or use a ruler, pencil something straight) if it's a bit crooked try a re-scan. Lastly your scan of the front should be of the same dimensions as the scan of back. For example if the front scan is 740 X 612 ... the back should also be the same or very close, not 764 X 628. Cropping can help with that also.
After scanning a few hundred you'll develop your own method and tricks. Keep on scanning in the free world!

Would it be prudent to delete members profiles who haven't been active for a while? Say 5 years? 8 years? 10? Just a thought.
Regardless, you guys do excellent job with the site. Thank you

Time for another bump. Seeing lots of requests in the IRs for wrong backs (please read the FAQ). 95% of the IRs that get "rejected" because they are seeking edits that are not permitted, come in from members who have been members for 2 weeks or less (70% are a week or less).99% of those are simply because they didn't look at the FAQ or read the set's release notes.

I didn't read every single response to this, but I wanted to note that part of the reason the site (tcdb) lists cards at a "Med." price. "Med." Or median or middle price. Meaning the price being shown is a middle of the road pricing. The card or item could go for on average 50% more or 50% less than that median list price. Examples are easy to find even when cross referencing other sales on other sites and not just eBay, you can see the average or median price is well reflected in general across the hobby. Unlike some other card pricing entities who have a low to high pricing stage, this site allows more trim for fair pricing by using a median price stage or formula. I think this makes sense and is mostly correct. If I'm wrong or there's more to add then by all means let me and us know.
Thanks!

New member here! Trying to add pricing. I've only bought from eBay recently, so those are the listings I'm using. I've had a bunch declined for an inaccurate link. Some of them I understood because I only put the home page on there (fixed those). But some of the reasons said incorrect auction listing or inaccurate sold page. But, I listed the only page I have access to. And at least 1 of them was accepted where I didn't do anything different.
So, my overall question is - so I don't get any more submissions declined, what is the RIGHT way to link to the "sold" listing or "auction" listing?
Especially buying one card from a listing that has multiple cards listed in a drop down?
Thanks guys!
