Can someone explain to me why all the RC notes were removed from the 1987 Fleer Update and Topps Traded sets? Did I miss something?

I'm wondering if it's regarding the discussion on the XRC listing that was posted recently. Just a thought.
I looked at the change log and it seems that they have been changed once or twice before.

Don't know, but update and traded factory sets can't have RCs. That's why Beckett created the XRC tag.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I'm a little disappointed. These sets have been noted this way for over 30 years. Why change it now?

Yes that era Traded / Update factory sets have had XRC notation for 35+ years. This has been known and used for decades. Trying to use rc for these sets is incorrect.

Good example. Greg Maddux's RC(Rookie Card) is in the 1987 Donruss flagship set. A player cannot have an XRC card after their RC has come out. An XRC of a player would be in a Update or Traded set before their RC. (Maddux has no XRC card before 1987)

OK, I'm going to go sit in the corner and sulk now.

To help clarify, maybe make it easier to understand, XRC means "eXtended Rookie Card". The "extended" means extended backwards in time from their true RC card.
