To add personal card images to cards in your Collection (or Wantlist or For Sale/Trade).

First, the card must be in your Collection.  Then from the set's page click on Collection Summary, then Add/Update. Find your card, click on the dropdown menu and choose View/Add Image.

At the Add Image page, use Method 2 to upload from your computer.  Click on Choose File and select your image file(s). Then click on Submit. 
Note: If you want a card back image to show on User Lists, upload the back image as the Card Front.

Once you have personal images uploaded you can use them on a User List.

First, your User List must be "Closed".  At the card's set page go to Collection Summary and choose Add/Update.
Find the card with the personal image and click on the dropdown menu, choose the appropriate Add to List:

So, your photos may not be acceptable.

This was intended for images that only show up in the uploader's personal collection or for use in user lists. They would not show as the image on the card's main page.

In this case photos are fine as far as I am aware. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

This is correct. Only images for the card's page needs to be a scan.
