One thing I noticed lately is that I can't tag for images to be removed?  Was that permission taken away/changed?  Or maybe was this just something I lost.  I did tag a good number (100+) of images in one set that did not belong to that set.  Just thought it would have been easier for Admin to go through that set and remove those that were tagged as opposed to submitting an IR for each?  (the images have been removed...thank you Admin)

Points are awarded for helping the site.  Has nothing to do with ability.  So no, points are not awarded on " the fundamentals of Image Processing".  The images you uploaded are not helping the site.

Not mad at losing the points but the fact that someone thought they could do better.  Personally (and I have said it before), once a member has achieved the required points to attain the top permission level, they should simply be marked as 25,000+.  Who cares whether you have 25,001 or 1,000,000+?

Chuck, The tags are still there, but only can be applied by going through the IR system. If you see a scan that does not meet the requirements, submit the IR for it, and when it goes through the "process", it will get the tag. (If the image is not the correct card, it can get removed completely.) <my speculation> I think Admin wanted a little more of a paper trail for images getting replaced.

BOB, if someone uploads 500 perfect Bugs Bunny pog images into a 500-pog Disney set and someone has to go back and clean up all 500, why would you expect the uploader to keep the 500 points just because of the image quality? It's about helping the quality of the site, not your ability to trim whitespace and hit an upload button.

Cool!  that makes sense.  Just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything wrong (or too wrong ;) )  Like I said, I flooded one set with about 100+ tags of "Image needs removed"

Where does this say anywhere about quality of the site, removing points for a poor checklist etc. Very poor!

How to Get Access

Access to this level requires understanding and following all parts of the image guidelines:

Image processing permissions are determined by an algorithm which monitors the quality of image submissions over a period of time. Once a certain threshold is met, access is granted.  Check

Consistently submitting images which meet the image guidelines and require no additional intervention from other members will raise your score. Submitting images that need to be cropped or rotated by other members or that get flagged as having a problem will lower your score. Check

Submitting images, then using the built-in tools to crop or rotate your own images does not negatively affect your score. Check

Until you have access to process your own submissions, images submitted go into a queue where they are verified for correctness, cropped and rotated as necessary, and checked for adherence to the Image Guidelines. You can see the status of your submissions and help expedite this process by visiting your Queue area and using the built-in tools (if necessary) to adjust your scans. Check

The word "quality" is literally on the second line.

Oh good grief this is getting ridiculous. There are, once again, two completely different things being discussed here because replies continue to go in circles with mini conversations going on and no clear direction to either of them, while intial, correct answers are ignored because it's 2020 and that's what happens.

Image Processing: Submit enough high quality, acceptable images, and you get approval to process your own without them going into the queue. That is literally all that access means (as well as the ability to then attempt to access Level 7). I would say that if that access has not yet been given, either 1) not enough high quality, acceptable images have been submitted, or 2) they were not submitted soon enough within each other. If you submit one image in 2018, and then another in 2020, do you really think the system and/or Admin is going to remember your username and say "oh Member XYZ is submitting images again. They were so close last time, so these last two from 2020 will put them over the top for image processing!"? No, that's not how it works. The timing doesn't have to be within 20 minutes of each other, but the frequency of submissions plays a part.

Unless Image Processing permissions (which has nothing to do with points) was attained, and then lost when the images were deleted, then I don't see how there can be a legitimate gripe from anyone besides impatience.

Images and Points: When you submit an image to the site, let's say (for simplicity sake) front, then back of the same card, you get 3 points. Now, if that card is found to not belong here, be part of the wrong checklist, or the image was in the wrong location and gets removed, those points go away because it no longer exists. 

If you tell your boss you worked 40 hours this week, get your paycheck, and then they find out you actually only worked 35, do you think they're going to let you keep that full paycheck? That might be a weak example, but you understand the reference. Just because the image was up here for a time being doesn't mean that it belongs, or anyone who contributed to incorrect documentation should receive recognition for it, whether it be purposeful or on accident because it didn't help the site (remember, that's what points are obtained from; constructively helping the site to benefit the membership as a whole).

Two different arguments, two different answers. And again, this is not my opinion. This is how the site is. Don't like it? Talk to Admin (see the thread on mock-up images to see how well that worked out for bbcardz, if you think Admin is cold and unreceptive to any ideas).

As for good scans being replaced, keep in mind that when Admin added the zoom feature, every single scan on the site became outdated and needed replaced.  It wasn't  because the old one was bad, but rather incompatible with a new feature.  Not sure if this applies to the complaint on here.
