Images have been removed. IR put forth to delete set and checklist from the database.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

There's no intrinsic value in cardboard, but there's a lot of value in doing something you enjoy!

Doesn't this start a "run" on deleting sets because you don't like them or want them listed? Does this only refer to unlicensed cards? Like switz says it doesn't bother him who collects what anymore. I recently became interested in POGS as switz said, after researching for a month and posting How to correctly list these, I hope some IR happy member does come along and IR the hell out them because HE doesn't like them.
I guess I could get the reason for questioning the H.Walker cards but I hope the lister didn't spend too much time entering them. And as I said before, Who is driving the bus here?

Bob, I believe the reason it was removed was because they were bootleg cards. The person/company creating the card didn't have permission to use the photo, design, teams/logos, or pretty much anything. I think it was the right call, because if nothing else, if any of the persons with the actual rights to any of those decide to pursue action against the person or company, then they might sue the site too for further trying to legiticize the cards.
The difference with the POGs you are creating the checklists for (as far as I can tell) are that they are licensed by Disney, and so they have the rights to them so they aren't bootlegs. So on that front if someone tried to get them deleted, they would fail.
I make custom card designs on my blog, and while I never print them out, even if I did, I'd never want them on this site. They aren't real cards, and I don't lay claim to any of the photos or logos. It's why I don't make as many customs anymore. I do however make my own card designs, and that was because I heard Topps was going after bloggers for using their designs. It's part of my reason I'm on the fence on the TCDB business cards. I like everything about them except the use of the Topps design. Even if they allow you to use the template I never thought it meant to use for anything other than to design a card on their site and ordering the cards on their site. I think it would be much cooler to see original designs on the TCDB cards especially if someone from the site made the designs. Just my two cents.

Thank You....now that's an explanation. Nothing further needed.
Many of the unlicensed cards on here appear to be a crapshoot then, until someone finds them and makes a case for removal. I mean that's the way I see it....Right or Wrong? Any member can add cards or sets without limitation, whether you follow guidelines or not.

Since this is a database and trading (mostly) site, I don't think there would be this issue, but the company I work for used to have music playing in the lobbies and such until one day someone came in that owned the rights to one of the songs and we had to stop using it. At that time we were just using CD's with music on them, so it wasn't even that we were using bootleg music or anything of the such.....We now stream XM so no issue any longer since it's a different company that handles it...

In a similar situation, when I was staff at our Staff College, if we copied a reference for mass distribution to the students as a reading, we had to get permision from the author / publishing company. But if we suggested it as a reading and let them go make their own copy, that did not infringe on copyrights. The difference is whether you produce it for you rown use or for distribution. In your situation with the CD, the company was using it for "distribution" to a mass of employees. But if an employee had it playing in his cubicle for his own enjoyment but others were able to hear it, that would have been ok. Weird but true.

So tcdb has permission to post Topps, donruss, upper deck etc. That's also copyright danger. So an admin doesn't like the custom cards so be it. Some people do

Not the same. The issue is not with TCDB using them. The issue is with the creator using these designs illegally, and if TCDB gives the appearance of legitimatizing them, potentially getting swept up in any legal repercussions. Not to mention, the standing of the site in the eyes of the hobby would be brought into question even more than it already may be.
This is not a "custom card" debate or not, and these weren't deleted because "an" Admin (there is only one Admin, not multiple) doesn't like them. They were deleted because they are illegal rip-offs that were created by a blogger trying to make money while using someone else's design and likenesses, and under TCDB guidelines, they do not qualify for inclusion here.
