And this is precisely why we don't guess.

I can verify eight of the cards and the numbering follows a logical pattern. I can infer from that pattern the rest of the numbers in the set save for one card. The set is serial numbered to 49 you may never be able to verify every card. I get wanting to be accurate; but I would think that having a checklist with one or two possible numbering errors would be preferable to not having a checklist at all.
What happens if tomorrow someone tried to put one of these cards in their collection and there is no checklist? They are going to create an incident report and then someone with permissions is going to enter the checklist either with numbers or they will use the same logic as I did. I hope they aren't going to tell him he is out of luck because we can't verify every card number.

Interesting the Corey Coleman isnt with the others when you drill down throught the Browse window. I guess you searched by Dress for Success or the player himself. I need to improve my researching skills. The CD for Cardale Jones is *Spock voice* highly illogical.

I didn't think we could "lift" from other sites. But I guess, I'm wrong, CHECKLISTS are fair game. Good info.

Were not lifting were researching. Using the pictures on COMC to verify the card numbers. I wouldn't use their checklist because its all over the place hence me not seeing all of the available information I could have gotten from there. I built the checklist myself and used other sites to verify the information is correct.

Which is precisely the correct way to do this. Thank you for being so conscientious about this. Checklists are published by the card companies. Some don't always get them 100% correct, but we need to ensure that we do, as then it shows we're not copying them. However, using what the company provides is fair use and not copyright infringement. In fact, IIRC, checklists are not copyright protected. It's other info in the checklists at a certain other site that is their property that we definitely cannot use.

Excellent discussion, and I'll add another please verify Panini checklists lol
I do agree it is a fine line when you're only missing one or can't verify a single card.....I see both points. Accuracy is crucial but there's gotta be a better solution than adding nothing, not documenting 24 cards because one can't be found for years. I don't actually have a solution just seems off. Fortunately asking others for help does seem to get the job done so this thread can now be living proof of the power of taking your time to get it right :)

There is a difference between researching something for an hour and researching something for 3 years (which is what some members have done on sets).
I almost hate to mention it, because we don't want this being used as a crutch for shoddy research, but we do have the "Incomplete Checklist" section in the Things To Do area now. If one uses "TBD" or "TBA" (as Admin prefers) instead of a made up piece of info, that set is trackable. Again, this is not to be used after a single attempt at reserching a set. It's meant for when all avenues have been exhausted, including requesting help in the forums here.
