Wow, nice looking screen on my IE now!! All sorts of fancy stuff now ..... better than that little bitty box I had before!! Anyways, I'm getting into some memrobelia cards now and need help clarifying how to list them. What is the norm in the note field for listing them? I have my first Jersey card scanned in and used JSY in the note field not MEM. Which should be used in this instance? Is there a common usage for these cards? What should be listed as the note? I don't want to enter a bunch of these and end up having to correct them to match the rest of the DB. Thanks in advance.

I also wonder about the same thing, I have seen MEM, JSY and even PATCH used. What is the correct way for these cards?

In my mind, MEM would be correct, unless a player has 2 different versions within the same set. Then probably MEM,JSY or whatever. Just my opinion. I have no authority to say what is the correct way.

I have been using JSY if the card is of course a fabric swatch, if it is of any other part of the jersey (patch, tag, etc) or a peice of stick or equipment I have been using MEM. The reason I have been doing this is if you look over the guidelines for Level 4, it shows what Admin uses as a reference. I always put AU first as in Admin's example, then if you notice they show JSY and MEM seperately as though they are different card types, then any other notes, then the SN. I never got any formal response to my question so this is the rules I kind of went with. My gut seemed to want to follow the way it was done in Admin's examples. I hope this clears up what I have been doing and hope it makes some kind of sense. =)

I personally go with MEM as a jersey card is memorabilia and JSY won't show up in your memorabilia card listng

I believe MEM is the correct Note. Applies to all "bits and pieces" found on cards.

a Patch is typically a piece of the material on the jersey.. like of the seem or number, you don't see too many labels with this; a JSY is typically the cloth of the jersey worn; MEM is a piece of the equipment or jersey as well. A lot of people mix match the MEM and JSY's- i've seen it both ways on several different sites too. 

when i label things on here, if i see mix matches i'll use what another legit has and go with it or just keep things uniformed within that set. Unless the set states "patch" or Jersey , then i'll use that

if the card says "jersey",  I list it as JSY.    A bit more specific than simply memorabilia.     However a true "jersey" is usually only the top of a uniform.   No one ever refers to pants as a jersey.

MEM stands for memorabilia, any unspecified memorabilia; jersey, pants, glove, stick, bat, patch, shoe, ball, etc.  It can be correctly used for any form of memorabilia.  If the type of memorabilia is specified on the card, then the more specific abbreviation can, and probably should be used.  But, IMO, the use of MEM can never be considered incorrect.

MEM is the safe catch-all. It covers jersey parts, pants parts, glove, pads whatever is part of a a uniform or separate memorbilia that has been lazer cut down into an unrecognisable inch or two of cloth (plastic, rubber or whatever the material it originally was)

I would consider a "Patch" either something that was on the jersey, like a real patch or a larger swatch of 2 inches or larger. 

If it is a small one inch swatch of cloth that states it came from a Jersey then JSY would be OK. Also older game used cards from when they first started doing the whole "jersey card" thing were mostly just jersey's so I think for those 1999 (or whenever they started the dang "game used" jersey/memorbilia thing) to 2005 or so when all they had were just jersey's I think JSY would be OK in those cases.
